Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I'm so sorry. Ranger was a handsome fella. I know exactly how you feel, just a month ago, we had to say goodbye to our much-loved Rascal after 14 years of loving kitty companionship, in a similar fashion.

He'd been going downhill very slowly, and one day I noticed that he was breathing very heavily and his eyes had lost their "spark". We took him to the vet the next morning and she said his heart and kidneys were very stressed (we'd been giving him meds for hyperthyroidism). He might have had a few more weeks in him, but why make the poor thing continue to suffer? So we did the hard thing that morning.

We still think we hear the bell on his collar, and we miss him cuddling on the sofa with us every night.

We all can take comfort that we gave them lots of love and a good life with us, as they were genuinely members of the family.

I normally don't mind Halloween, and normally I have fun decorating, I just wasn't feeling it this year.

That is truly wonderful news. Continued improvement to him. 🙏

Thank you.
My sincerest condolences regarding y’all’s dear kitty. It’s never easy, but when it’s obvious they are suffering, and it’s beyond the point of no return, it’s time to let them go.
Ranger would normally be laying on the rug between myself and the TV right now, and I truly miss that. Always faithful.
They are indeed family members, and being retired and at home so much brought me even closer to them. We still have Belle, and Sarah’s (youngest daughter) Ruby is with us quite often, so that helps, but there will never be another Ranger. As he matured, he started to make this growl-ish sound that sounded exactly like Chewbacca. If we hadn’t already named him Ranger we would have called him Chewie…!!!!! :hilarious:

We used to do up all the “holidays” pretty good when our 3 kiddos were younger, but it kinda’ waned over the years. Now that we have granddaughters we’ve picked it back up again, and then some…!!!!! 🤪🤣
And, the neighbors really enjoy it, as well.
Apparently, our home was previously a rental property for about a solid decade, with various tenants. All the neighbors we’ve talked to are so happy to hear we own the house, and will be here for the foreseeable future…!!! :)

And yes, the news regarding my bro is sooooo very good…!!!!!!! :joyfull::happy:
He’s a fighter and isn’t giving up…it’s in our blood…!!! ;):)

Again, thank you for all your kind words, and I appreciate you taking the time…!!! :)

I am in a kerfuffle because I ordered some clothes off of a website, only for them to be too big. So I returned them and ordered the right size. Now today they are cheaper by like $15-20 a piece, so I've placed another order, with the intent to return the previous order. So now I have about 4 orders coming from one website, and I have to make sure I keep everything straight once it gets here, so I can return the right items and get the right amount of money back.

Online shopping is convenient, until you realize something doesn't fit.

This post brings another thing to mind that I didn’t post yesterday…
When I was a CM at our local mall Disney Store we had to take online returns. We didn’t sell it, but it would count against our hourly sales numbers. Especially annoying when it was your management shift…!!! :bored:
We had to pull KPIs hourly and write them down. Things like hourly sales, conversion, UPT (Units Per Transaction), etc.
I had a Guest come in one time to return pajamas she bought online during my management sales shift. She had bought 4 different sizes for 4 different grandchildren, and was returning the ones (12 pair) that didn’t fit.
I was hummin’ along quite nicely with my sales for that hour, until she came in…totally tanked it…!!!!! 🤪:hilarious:

Looking for some feedback/input from those that have been to Disneyland.

My dad and I are thinking about going next year. It'd be my first time ever, and my dad's first trip since he was a kid. We are debating between the end of March (spring break) and June. A few questions...
  1. Which would be the better time to go? March or June? Factoring in crowds and weather.
  2. How many days would you spend at the parks? And is there anything else nearby that's a must do?
  3. Is it necessary to stay at a Disney-owned resort? Or is it better to stay somewhere else to save money? We would want to be within walking distance.
That's all for now... I'm sure if/when we do decide to go, I'll have more questions.

1. March you will have Spring Break crowds but you will also have the DCA Food and Wine Festival. It is scaled back in terms of food booths when compared to Epcot, but DCA has cocktail, beer and wine seminars that can be booked and cooking demos too. Overall Spring Break crowds aren't as exhausting at DL as they are in WDW. In early June there will be Grad nights, where area schools do their senior nights at DCA but they are given an add-on option of Disneyland earlier in the day. I went on a Grad night and the teens weren't too bad, but let's say I'd rather go in March. Later June you won't have the Grad nights and the weather and crowds are fine. There is June Gloom though, which is the gray marine layer that takes until mid morning to burn off. Weather wise it will be in 70's-low 80's in March and in the 80's to even 90's in June. You won't have the humidity during either time. In March you will certainly need a sweatshirt or jacket in the morning and evening, in June maybe a sweatshirt at night.

2. Days in the parks: at least 3 but 4-5 gives you the ability to not rush. As for other stuff to do: there is Knott's nearby (although I've never been). I've done whale watching tours, Hollywood tours, beach time, drive out to a Mission, drive to Palm Springs, if you join D23 you could do a Disney Studio tour. Lots to do in SoCal. Although I wouldn't judge if if you just do Disneyland, I usually do just DL.

3. In my opinion the Disney owned hotels are overpriced and not worth the cost. Although I haven't stayed at any, even when I got passholder discounts it was too pricey for me. I could go twice and stay at one of the Best Westerns for the price of one stay at a Disney hotel. Many of the off site hotels are closer or just as close to the main gate as many rooms at the Disneyland Hotel or Pixar Pier. Here are the hotels I have stayed at and I would stay again at any: Best Western Park Place Inn, Best Western Anaheim Inn, Tropicana, Candy Cane Inn, Howard Johnson, Best Western Stovall's Inn (the walk is about 12-15 minutes & takes you through Downtown Disney), Suncoast Park Hotel Anaheim (furthest walk)

I listed the hotels from current shortest walking distance to longest. I like the Best Westerns because I can earn rewards. Also sometimes around Black Friday there are good gift card deals too.

When planning your flight: my preferred airports are SNA/John Wayne/Orange County and Long Beach. These are the closest to Disneyland. An Uber/Lyft to or from either of those will be about $25 from SNA and maybe max $40 with Long Beach. SNA is about a 15 minute drive and Long Beach 25-30 minutes max (just a bit more traffic). LAX is about a 45-60 minute drive and an Uber/Lyft is about $80 each way. One time our Uber made it from LAX in record time but he was also driving about 85-90mph on the freeway! So sometimes the cheaper flight of LAX isn't worth it.

Any questions you have please ask here or pm me. I'm happy to help.
