I think they could but they like to stagger these openings for revenue seasons.

Unlike 1988 when they opened Mickey's Birthdayland, the Studios at "Disney-MGM," Norway, Maelstrom, Grand Floridian, Carribean Beach....1989 when they opened The Disney-MGM Theme Park, Pleasure Island, Typhoon Lagoon, Delta Dreamflight, Wonders of Life....etc...I wouldn't be surprised if back then they considered THIS staggering

So where’s all that scintillating information about the “Monster Show” replacing Muppets? They must have made significant progress on that by now…

Closing Star Tours would be breathtaking in its idiocy, so it seems inevitable. A Studios with Toy Story Land, a lightly bandaged Animation Courtyard, no ST and Muppets, and the ancient B&B,Mermaid, and IJ shows is a pretty bad park, even with another brief coaster-in-a-box shoved in to give the podcasters something to warble about.

The amount of time everything other than Encanto and the doors coaster will take is largely irrelevant, because it will all happen in parallel. Those are the two elements of each makeover that will likely take the longest, so they'll probably be the limiting factor in either project.
Fair point (although it's amazing how exteriors and landscaping can lag behind main attraction construction).

My guess remains the Encanto ride may require more time to build, just because the facade and the interiors of a dark ride seem to be more time-consuming, depending on the ride, of course. It's unclear to me how elaborately the Doors Coaster will be themed inside and the exterior looks more limited (to me) based on the concept art. ( Although I get the ride / show building will likely be significantly larger than the Encanto building.)

But who knows - both seem to be a very similar construction phases.

I’m sure the show is moving along. Don’t worry it’s still coming Casper.

Despite having two of its best rides, and arguably the best night time show, DHS is still WDW's worst park and will be for a long time. Proof that a theme park is more than the sum of its top draw attractions.

The unfortunate situation the park is in now was entirely avoidable.

and the ancient B&B,Mermaid, and IJ shows

I forgot to swing back around to this. I finally saw Mermaid. It’s a completely new show. I really vehemently disagree with characterizing it as ancient. If it’s not new, than neither was Star Tours 2.0.

If B&TB received this type of makeover, I would be supremely happy with it kicking around another 20 years.

As you know I’m on the moderate end. The Monsters show is real and will come to fruition, but was an after thought because of where this project landed. I don’t think it’s far along in development because 2028 is a far off deadline for entertainment. Though I believe it will happen, pretty much everything else seems to be.

While I would fully support an update to BatB similar to what Mermaid received (which I would consider substantially new), I'm not sure I'd want either to run for another 20 years...

While I agree with the 20 year part be careful what you wish for, the west coast parks have eliminated much of their live entertainment and it has really diminished the quality of the parks, a half hour off your feet (sometimes in the AC) made the day a lot more enjoyable than it is now with a lack of shows. I’d honestly take Mickey and the Magical Map and Aladdin/Frozen back over getting a new ride, they made that big a difference to how fun a day in the parks were.

I also agree HS desperately needs at least 2-3 more rides though, we skipped it our last trip because we couldn’t justify adding an additional day for what it offers. While most the parks are short on live entertainment HS arguably has too much compared to the ride offerings.

Star Tours wouldn't close til Monsters, both coaster and show are online.
