Yes
But you only need 1 approach. And coming in over Liberty Island down towards Manhattan is the correct shot.

Totally get this argument but I think the more pressing one is Mount Rushmore simply isn't that awe inspiring visually lol. If you've ever been in person it looks small and unfinished. Don't know how cool it'll look compared to something like the Rockies. (Though I think they'll almost certainly include it).

Exactly -- that's why I think it should be skipped. It's not that impressive and would really be a waste compared to so many other options out there.

I don't think it would even belong in a top 50 of things to showcase.

Not in order except for the last one, here are my predictions:
  1. Mount Rushmore
  2. Chicago (perhaps Wrigley Field!)
  3. New York City (with Statue of Liberty)
  4. Grand Canyon
  5. A view of the Great Plains (perhaps flying over the American Heartland park in Oklahoma, RIP 🤣 )
  6. Santa Monica Pier in California
  7. Rocky Mountains
  8. Bayou Swamp in the South somewhere
  9. Seattle (Space Needle)
  10. Washington D.C. (National Mall)
  11. Philadelphia (Independence Hall)
  12. Hollywood Sign
  13. Epcot finale with American Adventure
Not a bad list, but I think #5 would include St. Louis with the Gateway Arch.

The kind of unexpected PLUS-ing that the parks need. Enough to get people talking and wanting to try the newest version, breathing new life into an existing (and favorite) attraction. Also, now this ride could have 3 totally available to be rotated attractions for holidays, special events. Great announcement!

Sounds like a solid list. I'd be surprised if many (most?) end up in the final film.

I'd love to see Route 66 somehow incorporated as it is such a great part of the "American Experience", but I just not sure what 20 second clip of the road you could use that encapsulates what Route 66 really is...

As for another location altogether, maybe Niagra Falls?

Probably. Though I actually think with the correct drone camera and footage it would look even better through the camera than in person

Around the world could be trotted out every year on Gumby's anniversary.

Someone clearly hasn't read their history. Mount Rushmore exists on stolen land. The US violated a treaty we had with the Lakota Sioux, which the supreme Court even affirmed. It's a monument to our arrogance and disrespect we had for the people that lived here well before us. It is absolutely not something worth celebrating
Not to mention Mr. Borglum’s questionable opinions on the Civil War and race.
