The second sentence is true. The first, however, is not.Again if there was any truth to that surrounding Leto he’d be in cuffs already. Rumor does not automatically make something true or someone guilty.

You telling me that you don't believe in the hyper fixated world we live right now, where people are calling for heads because a certain list isn't released, that if there was any veracity to the claims he wouldn't be in cuffs? Come on, be real, you know he would, so lets not play like we don't live in a world where some eager prosecutor wouldn't be loving to file charges to score some points. The second sentence is true. Sorry but I don't agree, we live in a world where many famous people are being taken down by such actions.Everything I’ve read about (which is 2 articles) happened over a decade ago, and 90% of what I’ve read likely wouldn’t be criminal anyway, maybe a misdemeanor, texting underage girls, inappropriate comments to underage girls, creepy but not worth prosecuting, even the most serious accusations I’ve seen (exposing himself to underage girls) probably wouldn’t be worth the time and expense of prosecuting a decade later.
From the little I’ve read he’s a creep rather than a criminal, still makes it so I don’t really want to support him with my money though.
We have seen Hollywood hide a lot of things over the decades. I don't see any reason to think that still doesn't continue today. Harvey Weinstein was likely one of many...it is a systemic issue.Sorry but I don't agree, we live in a world where many famous people are being taken down by such actions.
I agree he is creepy, but you're naive if you don't think that someone would prosecute if any of those claims were true, especially the last one because that is assault and that is criminal.
However if Weinstein proved anything its that things can't be swept under the rug forever, everything always comes out eventually. And in this day and age where everything is under a microscope and on social media I have no doubt that if any of it was true he would be brought up on charges in a second, even years later. We have seen Hollywood hide a lot of things over the decades. To have that type of "no doubt" confidence when it comes to Hollwood seems a bit crazy...lolAnd in this day and age where everything is under a microscope and on social media I have no doubt that if any of it was true he would be brought up on charges in a second, even years later.
I'm telling you that there are plenty of documented cases of people (celebrities or otherwise) getting away with sexual impropriety/abuse for years despite persistent rumours. For a particularly egregious example (he died without ever facing justice), look up Jimmy Savile. My point has nothing to do with Leto specifically. You telling me that you don't believe in the hyper fixated world we live right now, where people are calling for heads because a certain list isn't released, that if there was any veracity to the claims he wouldn't be in cuffs? This isn't the same time in Hollywood as Weinstein's era. After #MeToo and Cancel Culture Hollywood became scared and its no longer sweeping many things under the rug like it use to. I mean just look at people who have been fired just for Tweets, in the old days that would have been swept under the rug and seen as "nothing".For decades it was swept under...

Agree to disagree on that....This isn't the same time in Hollywood as Weinstein's era. Irrespective of any of that, again criminal behavior can't be swept under the rug as easily these days, social media has made sure of that.
And my point is irrespective of Leto as well. We're in a different time. Savile died 14 years ago, in a pre-Weinstein/pre-#MeToo/pre-Epstein world. Had he survived you can be sure he would have been brought up on charges and sentenced.I'm telling you that there are plenty of documented cases of people getting away with sexual impropriety/abuse for years despite persistent rumours. Go look up Raymond Cruz, he was arrested last month just for spraying water on a bunch of women, and tell me that things are still being swept under the rug in Hollywood like in the old days.Agree to disagree on that....
I agree…. I was just showing why that may not have rang any alarm bells that Leto was involved in such shenanigansI don’t think Leo’s ever been linked to underage girls though, we all know he likes younger women but he’s at least been smart enough to keep it 18+, which is a little creepy but legal.
Totally different situations.
You want me to look at one case as a way to prove somehow Hollywood's century long epidemic is now in a thing of the past...due to social media? As I said, agree to disagree.Go look up Raymond Cruz, he was arrested last month just for spraying water on a bunch of women, and tell me that things are still being swept under the rug in Hollywood like in the old days.
I think you're being very unrealistic in asserting that such rumours, if founded, always lead to arrests and prosecutions in the post-Weinstein era. But I don't think we're going to convince each other, so we'll just have to part company on this matter. And my point is irrespective of Leto as well. We're in a different time. I'm not saying "always", but I think more often than not these days Hollywood is not willing to protect such behavior if founded and that is what would lead to arrests and prosecutions.I think you're being very unrealistic in asserting that such rumours, if founded, always lead to arrests and prosecutions in the post-Weinstein era. I'm fine agreeing to disagree, but its more than just one case. Hollywood isn't as willing to sweep things under the rug these days as they once did. Not saying they are perfect now, just that its not the same like in decades past as you're trying to assert. You want me to look at one case as a way to prove somehow Hollywood's century long epidemic is now in a thing of the past...due to social media? Your words were: “Again if there was any truth to that surrounding Leto he’d be in cuffs already.” You’re now qualifying those sentiments and saying something rather different from the certainty you earlier expressed.I'm not saying "always", but I think more often than not these days Hollywood is not willing to protect such behavior if founded and that is what would lead to arrests and prosecutions.
I'm not going to get into the semantics of language here. But that is about him specifically, not that every similar case under the sun in Hollywood will always lead to arrests and prosecution.Your words were: “Again if there was any truth to that surrounding Leto he’d be in cuffs already.” You’re now qualifying those sentiments and saying something rather different from the certainty you earlier expressed.
I think it’s definitely better than it was but I think the “boys club” still very much exists, we get the occasional scapegoat like Epstein and Diddy but for every 1 that’s exposed there’s probably 99 that are being protected by their money, their power, and their powerful connections.I'm not saying "always", but I think more often than not these days Hollywood is not willing to protect such behavior if founded and that is what would lead to arrests and prosecutions.
