Disney has announced Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens in Summer 2026:

At Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, you bet we’ll have rock as we roll across Hollywood on a wild ride with the Electric Mayhem – complete with backstage chaos, high-speed thrills, that signature Muppet humor… and an all-new Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure.

Side by side with a dedicated team of penguin audio engineers, Scooter, in his capacity as band manager, will be trying hard to convince the Electric Mayhem to stop laying down tracks so they won’t be late to their own concert. This will be the first time Scooter has ever been imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure, and I hear he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction… but we’ll have to wait to learn more about that.

Now, I can imagine you’re ready to go pedal to the metal and experience the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets in this latest story. Well, the wait will be over before you know it: Get ready to rock out when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets speeds into Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026!

Maybe I’m wrong here, but I always thought the styling of Gonzo’s stunt performance stage name was “Gonzo the Great” not “The Great Gonzo”?!

Doesn't really need to be one yet, just assume around Feb. It's only a minor refresh ultimately so wont be down for long.

I'm putting money on once Zootopia opens in a few weeks we'll get a closing date for Aerosmith RnRC. Gives people the holiday season to get their last rides in

If the ride cars are going to be repainted in a psychedelic style, it would be terrible to have the inverted vehicle over the archway not match it - cohesion be damned.

I would imagine that the Electric Mayhem will be the psychedelic limo. As concert attendees, we could be in the plain ones?

Yep. Probably that Monday after Marathon. That seems to be a popular time.

I'm betting that's where Statler and Waldorf will be, making comments about the ride as the cars wait to enter the unload area.

They stated Muppet Labs will be the ones that will updating the vehicles to get us there..

And I keep hoping they get Peter Linz to stop playing as Walter and take over as Kermit since his Ernie sounds so much better.

I really didn't know what I thought about this change. I will never forgive them for closing the historic Muppets 3D, but the more I think about RnRC the more I think I am going to like it as well if not better. After all the just of the ride is just the thrill of the coaster and any storyline will work because it is the same ride just different lead up and scenery. I liked Aerosmith, but I couldn't tell you what song was playing during the ride. Too much going on to pay attention to the details as far as I was concerned it was just background noise. I will probably never get to ride it personally, but I think it is one of the few plusses that they have attempted that might work out.
