October 2025 Price Increases

What does merchandise pricing have to do with AP and food/beverage price increases?
That’s also going up and they increase prices everywhere to make up for losses here. They probably need t-shirt prices to rise to $50 but no one will pay that. So, instead, those went up a few bucks while other increases make up the difference.

So, you’re paying the $50 for the t-shirt without knowing it.

APs, not much, food and beverage would have been hit by tariffs though less so than merch. Regardless of the direct impact, you have got to recover those increased costs across the board as much as possible instead of just the areas hit. Averaging it out helps prevent a shock increase in one area that will generally result in a massive pullback on customer spending on those products.

That in conjunction with eating through existing inventory while shifting the more easily moved production to countries that were not hit as hard should cover any shortfalls. At least that is what we have done with our stuff.

Honestly, I am surprised what we have seen so far wasn't increased more but that could be due to the corner they have backed themselves into with pricing.

So the food and beverage price increases at this time last year were due to... ??

Prices are still less than our local sports stadiums. It's all wildly expensive.

Don't forget Broadway shows and Taylor Swift concert tickets.

Just remember, Disney is not your friend, they are not a company of dreamers and story tellers, they do not care about you the guest in any way other than to extract money from you.

Everything else is marketing designed to appeal to morons.

Anyone telling you otherwise is a liar and shill.

The pricing of all entertainment is wildly out of control. My wife and I don't do much in terms of entertainment. We're content with hanging out at home, going for walks, staying busy. When we do finally decide to partake in an entertainment offering, we flinch at the cost. Just last year we were going to go to a movie and tickets were ~$20/person. We didn't go because it just seemed outrageous. We recently thought of going to a small concert venue for a show. Tickets were $75+ per person. I am a huge Syracuse basketball fan. I used to go to games all the time. I now haven't been to a game in person in six or seven years because the value I get from the tickets is just not there.

I know someone is paying it otherwise they couldn't charge the prices they do. But it certainly isn't us!

Covering increased costs and wanting to increase profits. Same as every year. The only thing that changes is the main driver of costs and the percentage of the increase that goes to cover them vs. profit.

Either way, the original point was that these are much more realistic drivers
Yeah this will drive more visitors!

This is only about showing YOY growth in guest spending.
