I don't mind paying the premium, personally have been enjoying DL way more than WDW lately.
Side note - yes, DL for what it offers is immensely better than WDW. Always has been.

That said, I can absolutely see a good chunk of these cabins remaining in Disneys hands for cash sales because they won’t ever sell. And when Lakeshore opens… I can’t even imagine how cabin sales will look then.

It’s a sad circumstance for this rather charming resort.

Way too much

Assume $30,000
For that??? I could see $30k a year in rent to live in one full time, and even that might be much... But as a DVC property, those cabins aren't that great at that price point! Never mind when you compare that price to how much you could get at another Orlando time share property or elsewhere in the US!

Prices are what they are…

Listed as $23,500 for the minimum

The average base contract to be useful is more like $35,000

I would never buy into them if I ever decided I wanted to buy a DVC. They already have maintenance issues. Our favorite property to stay, but those cabins won’t last. Very shoddy workmanship. Grout is cracked and falling out in the kitchen and bath. Tiles are cracked in the bath. Fixtures falling off the walls in the bathrooms. Siding bulging on the outside. We’ve been in several cabins this year and seeing the same issues with each. And let’s not mention the filthy floors because they don’t mop them.

It’s a pathetic effort…

And before anyone says “but, but, but…”

It is.

The concept of dvc was a partnership between TWDC and its loyal customers…both had standards for the relationship…this fast, slick @$$ approach is nothing of the sort.

Bad management

Lather, rinse, sell Halloween tickets

Who needs loyal customers? There are 10 families DYING to spend money on a WDW vacation for every family that decides not to go anymore. Their guest pool is unlimited!! Or… at least that’s what some around here have said. :cautious:
