I always wondered about this. So most of the show we see today isnt the same as what was in california? That would make alot of sense, Im assuming the AAs are mostly what was sent over?
So is the disneyland building unable to turn due to lack of maintenance, or is that why it was closed originally?
Sorry for all the questions, this is the stuff that I really am interested in.
So far as I know the AAs and key props / decor were brought from Anaheim. As we know the building and interior was a new build.

Regarding the Anaheim building it’s a mix of no maintenance and other things being added to the structure (much like the Imagination pavilion)

Yep. It’s not optimal, but the fourth act has an inherently problem given the time jumps and the need to constantly update it. Putting a believable Walt animatronic where he is the central narrator while the original 1960’s version of the family goes about its day in the backdrop would work. He likely also spoke extensively about the attraction so cobbling together a coherent script from his recorded interviews shouldn’t be too heavy a lift.
Hey good idea!

The end result from how the new AA will look and be incorporated remains to be seen. However, this means the attraction lives another generation, so all positive as far as I’m concerned.
If Dis is putting more $$$$ into adding Walt's AA piece and also update (an unknown at this point of what that will entail) the scenes, than its got a renewal on life for quite a while. I'm quite happy the attraction isn't going away permanently.

NEWSFLASH: CoP no longer in trouble (unless you think adding the Walt animatronic is trouble)

I thought that the Walt animatronic is Disneyland could potentially be really weird, but it actually seems fine. I thought that CoP was on the chopping block, so I'm glad that it's staying around. If anything, the Walt animatronic fits better here, with Walt introducing the attraction.

Let this be a lesson that gossip attributed to unnamed frontline CMs should be disregarded.
You can say that again Haha!

I think I remember it still moving during the 50th anniversary of DL. However, the more I think about it, the less it makes sense due to the inability to stop and allow people to linger at a scene or whatever was there at the time. That was 25 years ago so considering what I did yesterday is getting difficult to quickly remember, it's also possible it was not moving and it was something that happened before I went. I do know I went into the building, but have no concrete recollection of what was there. So my guess is that it was a colossal waste of time to even have made this post. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time I was guilty of that. BTW, Martin your recent video on the Canadian Pavilion in EPCOT was very nice. Glad you're still doing them.

My guess is that whatever they have him/it say is going to be the beginning scene that has just been a partially open curtain with a random voice telling you a little about the history of the attraction and then everything after that will be a hopefully spruced up same story as before and solidifying it as a historical show as opposed to ever getting to today. Hell, we know what today is, it's the past that makes it interesting to begin with. This should really help kick start the rebirth of that attactions. Why it's almost like it is going to be a great big beautiful tomorrow for CoP.

Yes, we expected that Walts AA appearance would be a small opening speil as DL's version was recently added. We don't know exactly what pieces of the scenes will be retouched to reflect the update. Tomorrowland has always had a problem of having enough details and misses the mark and reflect enough of a Tomorrow as to give us a land properly described as Tomorrowland.

My first visit to DL was during the 50th and I know I saw the COP building move so yes, it was still moving then. I think it was still moving on my next few visits as well.

Innoventions - I saw a fully walking robot give a demonstration in there - kinda fun.

You're jarring my memory back. I remember seeing that as well. It was very impressive and that was 20 years ago. They have come a long way with humanoid robots since then. It's like comparing the original cell phone to the current ones.
The name wa ASIMO!
