I was seeing this on Facebook. I was thinking where is the space to dedicate such system?
I would prefer a people mover. I really do think there should be alternatives of transportation to get around the city main points of interest.

My only concern is that Disney won't support this project to be built because guests might end up parking at ARTIC for free and riding the gondola to Disneyland.

Maybe I’m misremembering, but weren’t there ideas floated over the years for a similar system that was Disney sponsored?

Also why would Disney need to support it? This is for the City not Disney.

Also with Disney in a better place with the City I don’t think Disney is worried about losing parking fees if it means more guests that would spend way more than that parking fee in the long run.

Well, Disney charges at lot to park at the resorts. So Disney is not losing much on parking fees. This is about connecting city points of interest to be more streamlined. Especially for the sports entertainment complex into convention center and Garden Walk. The distance to the convention center to Disney is not an issue though.

I don't think Disney cares all the much about losing the $35 for parking, they'll make that up and more by any guest coming to spend at the Parks who would ride this.

And agree its all about the connecting the various spots around the City and made them easier to get to without driving. If one notices the idea with many projects around the Resort District from DisneylandForward to this is to remove as much traffic off of the main corridors of the District in conjunction with these projects.

Also here is the proposed stops for this project -

Yeah, it's in that rendering.

Personally I think it's hilarious that the city continues to try and get a throughway on the Toy Story lot. They really want to make Gene Autry Way a thing in the worst way.

So would those Palm trees on Katella be a problem? One of the articles I read mentioned that. How many would need to be removed? Would hotels and businesses be ok with that? Do they have any say?

Swyft advertises (they haven't built anything yet to the best of my knowledge) two systems. One is a pretty standard gondola. The other is called "Whoosh" (they are a licensee). This would be the cool point-tp-point system, but looks much more expensive than the regular gondola. I guess in this case for gondola, they would put in detach/reattach stations at that junction. or I suppose more simply just turns, in one complete system loop. Going from ARTIC to the Convention Center might mean riding past the Disney stop first. We'll see.

This image seems to have them happily coexisting. Or, more likely, they've replaced the center median palms with shorter varieties.

No doubt DLR will get Skyliner. It goes up fast and its a relatively inexpensive form of transportation.

Remember how fast they had it up and running at WDW.

Nice! What do you think the odds are that this actually happens? I think it would be incredibly cool and really elevate Anaheim as a whole. I don’t think anything in LA or Southern California compares to this. Also just realized that OC Vibe is a play on LA Live.
