I love the theme of Dino and it technically fits South America as a theme, I guess they just know Indy will draw way more people.

Do we specifically know that? I thought you could get various things depending on which window you walk up to. I can see switching out one window. But the entire thing? The only place I've seen that reported is from the Site that Shall Not Be Named. Typical clickbait. If Harambe Market is going full burger and fries, I'd like to see a reputable source.
But they're zebra burgers and yam fries!!

Simply having on-ride music will dramatically improve the experience. That has always been Dino’s great flaw. Secondarily being under-lit and disorienting and third playing the dinosaurs are scary kaiju card.
I really loved dinosaurs as a kid, but I also love Indiana Jones. I have also ridden Dinosaur many times. Last year was my first trip to DL and I had the pleasure of riding IJA. Although they were the same ride system, I found the IJA version way more tolerable of a ride experience overall. And I believe the entire ride is themed and lit to some degree. Dinosaur had too many pitch black sections where no theming was visible. And the ride programming was way too rough to say it was enjoyable. I will always fondly remember the dinosaur AAs though.

I think RNRC might get that Jan 12th date. I don't know why I'm stuck on January 12th by the way, so don't try to budge me!

At first I used to cope and believe that DINOSAUR would stay and Jones would get canned because I thought I wouldn't be able to ride it one last time, and then WHAM, the opportunity came for me to say goodbye and since then I've accepted it.

Idea - Maybe they can put Dr. Seeker in the new Indy ride as a cameo. Throw him in the background of a photo or just have him be the quote on a newspaper or something

Dinosaur still draws people. People do love dinosaurs as a theme; I think that's indisputable. The execution could be improved. The ride could be plussed or updated. But they'd rather just wipe it out and start over, even though going back to AK's opening, they had the option to put Indy and specifically chose to put Dino instead. So, it's sad to see them give up on the theme entirely. Maybe I'm biased as I love Dinosaur, but to me Indy is basically a dead franchise so it seems like an odd choice to bring it in at this point. I'm not convinced that after the initial novelty wears off Indy will be any more popular than the existing Dino ride, as I have stated many times, those who don't like the ride due to the motion are still not going to like it.

Is Dinosaur really a draw? I rarely see it with much of a wait

I am biased against it as, while I love dinosaurs, I find Dinosaur to be a terrible ride. Loved Indy though so definitely is in the execution.

They definitely could have looked to kept the theme but I proved it but without a strong/viable IP, makes more sense to change it. Indy is still a pretty popular brand name - the recent video game has done well, etc and can keep going in modes like that

in 2024 before the announcement I rode this ride for the first time in at least 10 years and got the old Disney feeling I used to get, it really bought me back. I really felt like I was in Disney as I knew it again. At the end of the day I had 10 minutes until closing and I decided last minute to just run back to dinosaur one more time debating if I want to go on again not knowing it would be my last time. Despite my terrible headache from the last 2 thrill rides accompanied by a tooth ache I couldn’t be any more happier with my decision to go on the ride just one last time being so happy to be on it and getting that classic 90’s Disney fix just one last time.

While Dinosaur is not my favorite, I'm always perplexed at how attractions like Dino are replaced while Speedway lives on.
Imagine telling someone 10 years ago that somehow Speedway would outlast not only DINOSAUR, but Muppetvison, Rivers of America, Rock N Rollercoaster, Splash Mountain, ect...

You'd have been laughed off the forum
