So you're saying longtime WDW fans wouldn't fly out for anything new other than new attractions, and wouldn't respond well to a truly well-done resort wide celebration?
Not saying that at all .. many go every year or more frequently - but I think most vacationers go when it makes sense for them based on their free vacation time and budget … what category of WDW guest do you think would fly out and stay a week onsite for something like DLRs 70th?

I know Disneyland is THE ORIGINAL, but WHY doesn't the other Disney parks, domestic and international, EVER get this kind of love!? The parks segment is what keeps the company afloat , so why not celebrate each park milestone like this!
Or does Disneyland just get more love because its the original park? WDW is the original 4-park resort, so....
I always thought that had. Other parks got new attractions for Disneyland's anniversary. Disneyland got the My Pillow Guy.

It seems to me that the biggest WDW fans that have money to burn would book a trip they might not otherwise if they had a compelling reason to do so. Given that Disneyland is able to make seasonality such a feeding frenzy of attendance (and WDW is also, to a lesser extent with their Halloween and Christmas celebrations), I don't see why it would hurt to at least try something along the lines of a DL anniversary celebration.

After all, WDW used to make a big deal out of its milestones too, they just chose to stop after the 25th, more or less. SpectroMagic was billed as one of the big new offerings for its 20th anniversary. There's no reason they couldn't do the same thing now.

An amazing parade.

Some of the parade floats would transform during the show stop. Great float designs. Finale float is still seen today, in Frightfully fun parade.

This Parade, and the 50th ‘Remember….Dreams Come True’ were the two shows I saw that convinced me I NEEDED to visit Disneyland in person.
The entire 50th ‘package’ and marketing convinced me from 2,400 miles away here on the East Coast that I NEEDED to finally get out there and visit ‘Walt’s Park’ in person.

Took a couple of years, but in 2007 I finally made it over and came back a changed person.
Seeing this Parade in person, and ‘Remember…’ in person blew me away.

From that moment on, Disneyland was #1 with this long term WDW ‘lifer’.
Unmatched.

That's the parade where I took this glorious photo.

Essentially was me but with Paint the Night & Disneyland Forever during the 60th, it’s what made me fall in love with Disneyland.

Never got to attend the 60th but at least I got PTN and Wondrous Journeys during this anniversary.

Maybe this has been previously discussed, but what is the deal with the projections not running often this summer for wondrous journeys? Is it a maintenance issue or something else? I watched a video of the final show and was very surprised to see it running with only castle lights.

Probably a combination of maintenence and/or technical issues.

There were a couple shows where the projections were on and worked, but that like halfway through it shut off and switched to the B-mode castle lights. That mostly leads the aforementioned issues above.

And I forgot that WJ was going away for the season...need to find a livestream asap and watch its final showing!

They've already started Halloween Screams, but they'll briefly return to WJ between Halloween and Christmas.

This is the pinnacle of day parades of Disney Parks for me. 20 years ago now, it seems like it was the last of its kind for a parade of this scale. Domestically at least.
Yeah, Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams really is the last of its kind when it comes to a true anniversary parades at the domestic parks. Currently, Tokyo Disneyland (and Paris to a smaller degree) are the only Disney Parks that still commits to making an actual anniversary parade. Not just an anniversary cavalcade that begun with WDW's 50th Anniversary Celebration (due to COVID effecting original plans) which Disneyland followed suit with DL's 70th.
