When people don't make return trips because the park experience isn't what it used to be, it costs Disney money. In case someone does something that might cost disney money
Though that doesn't seem to be happening yet.

Okay, I'll dare to be the -somewhat opposing view in this thread. I too like to stand quickly once the plane lands. I'm sitting as I type, but after several hours of sitting in a cramped airplane, I REALLY want to stretch my legs. And I feel like, regardless of the reason, if the people immediately standing up aren't bothering others, there's no reason to judge them. It's different from those who, yes, are in row 20, stand up immediately and start moaning about how long they've been standing up
Definitely agree! Drives me nuts when people are at the grocery store (or any for that matter) and wait to start filling out their checks until everything has been scanned or don't swipe their debit/cc until the very end. And the morons who aren't prepared to go through TSA by either waiting until they get up to show their id and dig around in their bag for it (why did you put it away from when you had to show the agent when getting into line in the first place). As Scar from the Lion King sang, Be Prepared!Okay, I'll dare to be the -somewhat opposing view in this thread. I too like to stand quickly once the plane lands. I try to be quiet and polite, but it sometimes drives me buggers how disorganized many people are when de-boarding a plane, and while waiting in other queues. In situations like deboarding, I feel we all have a responsibility to be focused and organized, or else to hold back. While waiting in public queues, we should do our part prepping for our turn: know where your wallet is, talk to your child about their menu options, have coupons ready, etc. It is one reason I really LIKE mobile ordering at WDW.
It a bit like the human walls on the pathway choke-points that stand in a large group while they argue over which direction they want to walk. Didn't your elementary school teachers show you how to stand to one side while you decide so others can pass?
One bright spot in deboarding the way strangers often help each other to locate and gather their bags. It is always nice when people opt to help each other.

I 100% agree the stampede on GoG is a problem, and it feels dangerous to me. I love the ride, but CM's should do more in that spot, like they do on HM. On busy days, the CM's control the rate of people exiting the stretch room and other preshows.
On the other hand...some of the WDW ride preshows are a bit dumb, especially if you have seen them many times. I like DINOSAUR, but the preshow is annoying. (GoG's is fun and worth seeing.)
People aggressively vying to be RIGHT UP AGAINST to the preshow exits can be annoying, but I've relished the times I was able to bypass the DINO preshow, and the one on RnRC. Early in the morning, CM's encourage riders to bypass the RnRC preshow so they can get that first group on the ride as soon as possible. I know the preshow by heart, so I'm happy to do my part.
The GoG preshow is well done, and worth seeing every time. Still, that spot triggers many folks' fight/flight response; rushing is instinctive. Ensuring safety is WDW's responsibility
Or standing in a long line at any counter service where the menu is displayed whether at WDW or McDonald's or wherever and then not making up their mind when it's time to order.Definitely agree! Kinda my point though, people standing up too early makes it hard for folks to get their bags sometimes....this ADDING to the chaos. Imagine if everyone got up as soon as the plan landed how would that logistically work...those aisles aren't getting bigger.Okay, I'll dare to be the -somewhat opposing view in this thread. Definitely seems to be worse now since nothing has been done about it. Probably since standby started and people waiting longer in general especially if the line started outside REALLY want to get on the ride.Found this old thread rather than starting a new one about the same thing..
What are Disney thinking allowing this situation to continue! It's clearly extremely dangerous. We haven't ridden since close to ride opening and when we went on for the first time last week, we were on the right hand side after coming through the lightning lane. Wasn't a deliberate act. We weren't expecting the stampede, as it hadn't to us happened before. Woah! We were stood watching the preshow and the whole room surged towards us. We have two children and were separated from them and one got quite distressed. Even when we managed to get back to them and move us all away from the doors we were being physically pushed into.
We rode again yesterday, and stayed as far away from the door as possible, but there was a lady in a wheelchair close to the door and she was rushed at the same way.
They need to change this urgently. Why aren't they?
I suggest they send a small team out to Holland to see how Efteling run their pre shows. It's an absolute masterclass. Pre shows are a delight at Efteling because of how well they are designed and run. Particularly the one at Symbolica. Large groups file in, the same way as at Disney, but remain in switchbacks. There is no dead space in the room, and it is quick and efficient and safe for everyone. And a much nicer experience! They could implement this in the large pre show rooms at CR easily and solve all the problems.
that sounds like the preshow at forbidden journeyFound this old thread rather than starting a new one about the same thing..

Wait, what preshow? You mean the queue?that sounds like the preshow at forbidden journey
watch the preshow while winding through the defense against the dark arts switchbacksWait, what preshow? You mean the queue?
Ah ok I get what you're saying now, yeah, that would be unfortunate if it had to resort to that, especially since the CR preshow relies on everyone gathering in the center of the roomwatch the preshow while winding through the defense against the dark arts switchbacks
This is not the same thing we're talking about. Guests are forcibly opening the exit doors of the preshow, this does not happen on HM. The crowding the exit is annoying, but my original post was about guests basically exiting before its over and then the whole room followed them. I know someone on here commented that the motors will deactivate on the doors, but some of them do not, so there were guests really using all their muscle to open the doors that clearly weren't supposed to open yet. I've seen it happen a few times, it's crazy people are so dumb.It can't be avoided. It happens at other attractions. Watching the HM speil for example before moving to the doom buggies people race to the opening doors. Some who know where the doors are will maneuver over to the area prior to the ending scene and stand by ready to race through. Everyone wants to get the jump on everyone else.
No one has said anything about guests forcibly opening the doors. This is not the same thing we're talking about. Guests are forcibly opening the exit doors of the preshow, this does not happen on HM. It's literally in my first post here, I'm the OP lolNo one has said anything about guests forcibly opening the doors.
Your original post was in 2024 , but the conversation restarted in 2025 has changed to guests pushing their way forward not opening doors. It's literally in my first post here, I'm the OP lol
