Trip Report Loco’s sweaty summer adventures(of the seas).

Greetings my friends. Have you missed me for the last year? Wondering where I’ve been? Seen a random sighting of me in a @Tuvalu TR and wondered why I wasn’t doing an awesome TR myself? Have no fear! I am here to report on not one, but two summmer trips!

Trip one June 9-13(plus a cruise June 13-21).

Due to the excessive length of this vacation and the large amount of luggage needed, we decided we’d just make the road trip down to Orlando. We departed at approximately 3 AM on June 8, with plans to just stop wherever I got tired of driving. The wherever ended up being the Fairfield Inn by Marriott at Flamingo Crossings just outside the Western Way entrance to WDW at around 7:45 pm local time. Total travel time was 15 hours and 45 minutes. Total distance was 961 miles. Needless to say the sleep came quickly and easily for me that evening!

The hotel was quiet, clean, and convenient for anyone looking to stay near WDW without breaking the bank. I had enough CC points to cover the room for the night, but rates were as low as $100 the night we stayed. A tremendous value for that room!

June 9, 2025.

After a solid nights sleep we were up early enough to enjoy the complimentary breakfast at our hotel before making our way to WDW proper. We passed under the Western Way entrance around 7:30 AM

We were early enough to enjoy early entry this day and joined the masses on the way over to Gaurdiams. We were on the ride and off right at 9 AM. Our song was “I Ran”. The Tears for Fears song still eluded us on this day.

Our next stop was the Land pavilion. After a quick ride on Soarin we made our way through the greenhouse.
IMG_3430.jpeg

Back out into the heat to make our way toward Imagination. There were remnants of F&G still visible.
IMG_3436.jpeg

The queue for for imagination was surprisingly long, but we didn’t mind waiting in the AC for a bit.
IMG_3431.jpeg

Figzilla had just began greeting guests as we exited the ride. We stopped for a quick pic. Apparently I’d already been sweating profusely(a common theme in this TR) 🤣
IMG_8590.jpeg

What better way to cool down than to grab a drink and cool off in the DVC lounge? We were among the first guests of the day.

June 09 continued.

Time to make our way toward World Showcase. We stopped for spaceship earth pics on the way

Has this always been permanently displayed during the day? I swear I thought they went back to having a clear lagoon at some point.
IMG_3437.jpeg

We stopped and enjoyed the mariachi band for a few minutes.
IMG_3439.jpeg

I made a same-day reservation at Biergarten for lunch. We headed to Germany to await our dining time. Crowds were light this day.
IMG_3441.jpeg

We had about 20 minutes to kill before we could check in for lunch. We browsed the pavilion in search of air conditioning.

Care to guess the price of the SSE made of crystal?
IMG_8569.jpeg

It’s probably higher than you guessed.
IMG_8568.jpeg

This was the first day for a special character meet for AP holders in the Germany pavilion. Rumors swirled of a Duffy Bear return to Epcot. It was not to be though. We’d have to “settle” for Dopey.
IMG_8567.jpeg

I didn’t get any lunch pics, but the buffet was fresh and tasty, and the AC was nice and cold. Afterwards we purchased these chocolates that had caught our eyes earlier.

Nice to see you around these parts again. 😁
I’ve been lurking, but it’s good to be back. It’s getting harder and harder to get the inspiration start a new report these days.

You weren’t the only one. I was a mess all week!!
Still bummed that we didn’t get to meet up this time around!!
Hey the good thing about you and I is that I can almost guarantee we’ll be at WDW at the same time again!

I'm coming in at number 6! While I don't get a medal for 6th place is there some type of certificate of participation????
Looking forward to your TR. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Participation ribbon. Glad you’re here!

OH yay! An extended version!!! Can't wait to follow along!
You get the extended version when I’m too lazy to start the first TR! 🤣

Glad to see you back! Looking forward to reading about your trip(s).
I hope you enjoy!

How fun is this going to be???? Can't wait to hear all about it!

It should at least be a moderate amount of fun. The June Disney portion is a little short, but things will pick up later in the summer!

So pleased to see another trip report from you. Especially looking for to the cruise part.
The cruise part is my favorite!

Something seems off here 🧐

Our purchase in Germany turned into a fun game of trying to find fun snacks from every country. These were a winner for me.
IMG_8574.jpeg

One of my favorite photo spots.
IMG_3446.jpeg

A daring purchase from Mitsukoshi. It was…. odd.
IMG_8577.jpeg

Morocco doesn’t offer any unique package snacks. I had to sacrifice with this mosaic cookie. It was tastier than expected.
IMG_8579.jpeg

These were purchased at the recommendation of the French CMs. They were fine.
IMG_8580.jpeg

The UK didn’t offer much either. I remember a time when the store here offered a great assortment of chocolates and other goodies. They were down to simple Mars bars this day.
IMG_8582.jpeg

We’d received or room ready text. We stopped in Canada on the way out of the park. Lemme tell you, @amjt660 has been holding back on me. These things were outstanding!

We headed for the car and made our way to Wilderness Lodge. We had copper creek room 5103. It’s directly above the magnificent lobby, but high enough up that you don’t hear any of the noise while in your room.
IMG_3484.jpeg

The balcony view wasn’t too shabby either. However the feature pool was responsible for interrupting a few afternoon naps(if it wasn’t storming).

June 09 continued.

After a few hours of rest we ended up mobile ordering turkey sandwiches from Roaring Fork before heading back to Epcot for an evening of fun. SSE had no wait so we took our journey through the history of communication.

IMG_3490.jpeg

We made our way back to the Mexico pavilion to continue our pursuit of snacks. We got nada from Mexico. All they had were some “Mexican” Doritos that were made in Texas and are readily available at our local corner store for 1/3 of the price.

We stopped in Norway for a classic.
IMG_3494.jpeg

In china we found some interesting flavored Oreos. I don’t recall exactly what we ended up getting(and apparently we didn’t take a picture), but the flavor was not particularly different from standard Oreos in the end.

It was nearing time for Luminous fireworks. We found an empty spot between china and Norway that appeared to have a partially blocked view, but ultimately we were able to enjoy the show with no problem at all. Probably because the show is not a corporate 💩fest that can only be seen from one angle.
IMG_3496.jpeg

After the show(which is really growing on me), it was time for extended evening hours. Since we were close by we joined the queue for frozen. We ended up waiting around 25 minutes or so.
IMG_5430.jpeg

Our initial plan was to continue around to France for Ratatouille, but the ride was down. We briefly contemplated another ride on Gaurdians, but fatigue was setting in and we decided to head to the bus stop instead.
IMG_3498.jpeg

It was a fun first day of the trip!
