We are being overzealous advocates in both directions right now — it ain’t that deep!
Capacity is constrained by, but not based on area. There is no occupant load calculation for an outdoor theme park like there is for a building. Capacity is instead a function of the hourly throughput capability of the attractions. Epic Universe could physically fit way more people than would have an enjoyable experience. Why do people keep claiming it is at max capacity? Max capacity would imply no one else could fit in the park.
Poor wording on my part. When I say fit another person, I don't mean there is literally no more space available. To me, max capacity in the number of folks the park will allow for when operating at full bore. That will obviously largely depend on the companies policies towards staffing, waits, individual attraction capacity, etc.Capacity is constrained by, but not based on area. I highly suspect the North American general public wouldn’t tolerate Tokyo Disney Sea or USJ in the last year.
Making me nervous for our upcoming trip![]()
You're wrong.I don’t want to over get into it because I’m truly not a tear down Epic person. It’s great. But you are out to lunch comparing current day TDS to Epic. The former can now easily handle twice the guest load.
You're wrong.
Sorry, couldn't resist!
Seriously, though, this is where things go off the deep end. I don't think most people who are big fans of the park would proclaim the only park that rivals it in terms of theming is TDS and that anyone who thinks otherwise just has bad opinions. Like you, I really don't want to have a go at Epic as I think that, capacity and operational issues notwithstanding, it seems reasonable so far to consider it a success. But when people start saying things like this or that MK is a ghost town compared to Epic citing the Haunted Mansion having just a moderate wait time it becomes hard not to bite!
Does the ride actually spin like crazy? Sorry, I have avoided spoilers, but that would impact me riding it one day.
I'd like to know this too. It's the ride I've been looking forward to the most, but a lot of spinning would render it a no-go. Love coasters, hate spinning. (Love Forbidden Journey, btw - if it's similar to that.)
It's not as crazy as the model in the queue,
They are indeed selling out of single-park tickets. That's where the "sold out" is coming from. Why do people keep claiming it is at max capacity? Max capacity would imply no one else could fit in the park. Sold out would imply that no more tickets were available. Neither of those things are true most days so where is this coming from?
That isn't really sold out though. If someone wants to say single days tickets are selling out some days than sure, but that isn't what I was seeing people say. They are indeed selling out of single-park tickets. That's where the "sold out" is coming from.
...Dude. Are you serious? NBCUniversal is also one of the biggest companies of the planet or did you just forget that part?I wish people would just stay away from this thread if they’re such a hater.
People obsessively shilling for one of the world’s largest companies in Disney is embarrassing, and this is coming from a diehard fan.

Thanks for the corrective. I thought the selling-out was continuing.Single day tickets have only sold out on May 22/23 and 27th. Also forthcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Unless I’m misreading things.
It’s high capacity, just not near that stated capacityWhat is the hourly capacity, then?
What @AidenRodriguez731 is posting is in line with most of the information available online, including in this thread.
I have always assumed Haunted Mansion was renowned for having a very high capacity, so I am genuinely curious to know if that is a myth.
Going to the Universal Orlando website and trying to buy a 1 day epic ticket right now shows me some sold out dates:Single day tickets have only sold out on May 22/23 and 27th. Also forthcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas.
