See now this is perfectly normal.

You’re all just a bunch of haters.

There’s nothing at all wrong with this.

Disney management is perfectly competent and on top of things and running their parks perfectly.
See this is why I will always love yoooooouuuu…and iiiiiii eeee IIIII…

But it’s a pure love…not a sick, weird creepy kinda love (I promise 🤞🏻)

If they let out of state passholders buy on a payment plan they would probably get more passholders
Payments should always be standard for all…it diffuses the physiological hit of the large upfront costs. But it is not that simple.

No more demanding customers than in the heat. You may not think people will show up with their defaulted passes and attempt to gain entry with their small children…but I can assure you they will.

People got locked out/thrown out of rooms during the room charge era everyday. And it was terrible for all the people involved. No upside.

Money in the bank does make sense in a weird way

My understanding for that was that it was a legal thing, as each state has it's own rules on that and a contract that was set up in Florida may not be binding for a NY state resident as a for example. I didnt get this as an official answer though so it may not be correct. Marie

For the US, domestic tourism is estimated to be up 3% YOY. International Tourism is down on average 6% YOY. This is hardly a collapse.

Central Florida has seen an increase in visitors YOY, primarily due EU. Problem seems to be a more specific issue of visitors passing on WDW.
It’s not the overall volume…it’s been on a steady upward curve - except recessions - since the Japanese surrendered…that is consistent

I may have mentioned it once or twice before…but it’s the PRICE and the cost pressure that the companies lagging are not addressing.

The cruiselines have been packed and charging limited discount rates…if they see their forecasts are weak next year…guess what RCCL, Norwegian, etc would do this very minute?

Yeah…the proper management moves. Less people is a loss. Get em there

Have the gift card personally delivered by Donald Duck and I'll think about it.

Seriously though, the gift card just barely covers the tax you pay on top of the already ridiculous sticker price. And that's only if you don't add on the water parks and PhotoPass (how they can call it an "incredi-pass" without those is beyond me).

You know…I just now realized that they still made you pay add ons on that…

And now I’m crying laughing 😂

I cant speak for Len, but in my years of being a TA as well as a WDW fan who had an AP, I have never seen any incentives other than extended time such as 15 months for a yearly price, for AP purchases for the guest. Marie
I can’t remember any either…NOT targeting to a demo segment (ie dvc or Floridia resident)

Generous discounts are only given when there are zero other options.

So, instead of doing the smart thing and lowering the price of an AP in an attempt to draw more people (or, at the bare minimum, run the 15-months-for-the-price-of-12 promotion), they resort to... a gift card promotion?

Gotta protect the price point for future maths...

Discounts are easily 'forgotten' and phased out w/o much noise
So your crusty, obselete ceo…who is the only one that can do it 🙄
Is clinging to his one successful Florida move (that didn’t involve James Cameron)?

And that was raising prices behind the discounts of the housing crash era…and the dining plan…and concentrating on preserving the future base price trajectory?

How has that worked since the reintroduction of the dining plan?

You can't tease me like that and not provide actual numbers.

Do better.
You mean like the cite you provided for your original numbers?

You gotta pick your industry/company to track as industry association stuff will trail by 6+months.

You can look at MCO traffic and see domestic flights down 5% YTD through May.. which is still early.

The best signals for near-term are what companies are doing to drive business and what they communicate.. because they are the ones who live month to month. Not with industry association marketing..
