Beach erosion outside Lighthouse Cay cabanas

Wonder what caused this. There haven’t been any big tropical systems. Surely Invest 93 didn’t cause this? Can’t imagine what a hurricane would do.

Glad it hasn’t impacted the main beaches as we will be there in a couple weeks.
Water ya genius! :)

That’s good. I just wanted to make sure nobody that’s unfamiliar with Lookout Cay was confused. Your post seemed to indicate that Mabrika Cove was the main family beach.

The vast majority of guests to Lookout Cay do not have cabanas and won’t be impacted by this at all.
Why did they put the cabanas here rather than the main family beach? Just a matter of space/access?

Someone reached out to DCL concierge services asking about the erosion and got the following response:
The safety of our Guests and Crew are our number one priority at Disney Cruise Line. We are committed to ensuring that all Guests, Crew, and residents feel secure and informed as they enjoy our beautiful coastline.

We understand concerns about beach erosion, and we want to reassure you that we are actively monitoring the situation. Our team works closely to assess changes and take action as needed.

Current conditions remain safe for public use, and we have implemented clear signage and barriers where necessary. In addition, long-term plans are underway to mitigate erosion through environmentally responsible strategies such as beach nourishment, dune restoration, and natural barriers.

We will continue to prioritize safety, provide timely updates, and engage transparently as we protect and preserve our shoreline.

I would hope those cabanas aren’t rented out at the present time due to safety concerns.
