Would that also mean a guest can be counted twice; once entering DL and once DCA?
This has always been the question, if attendance equals unique ticketed guests or just gate clicks per day. Its always been assumed its just gate clicks per day. So if a guest has a park hopper and goes to DL first and then park hops to DCA, its assumed its two attendance clicks for the day one for each Park.

So the answer is we don't know.

They only count once. A unique situation would be if they had different ticket mediums though.

Basically Oogie Boogie Bash could lead to a double count.
I don't think that question has really be answered though, its an assumption on our part is it not? Do we have confirmation that its counted as a unique guest per day rather than gate clicks per day?

Which is allegedly why Magic Kingdom stays number one, all those double clicks from Not so Scary AND Christmas Party AND Afterhours and...

Indeed, I think I counted and WDW is basically open closer to 15 months a year. That's why its attendance seems uncatchable.

I'll get back to you, currently at work and it is not coming to me readily. I am 90% certain it has been formerly defined by Disney and/or TEA at some point over the years. It is possible this is an urban legend that has become almost a recurrent lie, but in a 10Q or something I swear it has been clearly defined.

DL 70th being leaps and bounds better than the WDW 50th is really quite mind boggling to me. I get it was likely due to the virus the 50th was pretty lackluster but man it's such a shame.
It’s Too Bad. However by Monday, MK will be back to where they should have been for the 50th.

I know DL has PTN but the lack of MH still bothers me.

Disneyland has shared photos from the 70th Anniversary edition of The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade, featuring original cast members hired by Walt in 1955, and Madison, Disney and Make-A-Wish’s 170,000th Wish Kid (photo 3):

Wow this makes whatever the MK did for the WDW 50th seem like crap on 10/1/2021

WDW’s 50th, on the actual day, WAS crap.
A giant steaming pile of crap.

I was there, and it was extremely disappointing.
All that was done by the Company on the actual day was merch releases that caused fist fights, and a flimsy small poster given out as Guests exited the turnstiles.
🤨
No special event…no special announcements…no special entertainment offerings….no replaying of Roy’s speech……zipPAH.
It was like any other day at the Park, except for the massive crowds.
Oh, and the first fight in the Emporium over a 50th tumbler…
😑

I will say however that the 50th Guidemap for the day was nice.
But it was a somewhat depressing day to be a long term Park Fan that has been a part of the history of the place for the last 40 or so years.
Some kind of real acknowledgment should have been made….

But I digress….

Thank you Disneyland, for doing it RIGHT!
Here’s to the NEXT 70 years!

Heck, Disneyland Paris actually put some effort into their 30th Anniversary offerings despite COVID effecting some of their larger scale plans. It actually felt celebratory compared to WDW's 50th feeling like a huge letdown.

And that anniversary was kicked off in early 2022. The same time WDW's 50th Anniversary Celebration was held. WDW has no excuse making their 50th Anniversary feel like a joke.

A few show notes here...

  • I appreciate that TDA President Du Jour is wearing a proper business suit, and Bob and Sidekick Tightpants have transitioned from their cheesy Dad Jeans N' Sneaks to wool gabardine trousers and dress shoes.
  • And not a carb in sight for either Bob or Sidekick Tightpants! That takes work, especially at their age.
  • Who is the lady on the right? Some new TDA Exec we've never heard of? A Burbank type? Bob's side hustle? Does Willow know? Is this like that CEO just caught on the stadium Kiss Cam this past weekend with his HR Executive mistress?
  • Mickey and Minnie's 70th outfits are dreadful looking. They look like something a disco-addled person coked out of their mind in 1980 would dream up as what Mickey & Minnie will look like "in the future". Minnie's outfit is salvageable, but Mickey's outfit is truly dreadful. Nothing about it works. Ever. Anywhere. On no one. Especially a mouse.

I know. I was there at 6am. It was rhetorical.
