I am completely bogged down in New Orleans Square still being incensed by the cheap blight that is the Madame Leota gift shop. I can't also get involved in this Walt Disney thing. You guys go on without me.
I still have my copy of "Bambi: Special Edition" which had it.I remember renting a DVD of "Bambi" some time ago, and watching the "Special Features" disc. It included a read-through of an actual story meeting (written down by a studio stenographer) wherein Walt and some of his artists discussed the film. The producers of the "Special Features" disc hired voice actors to portray Walt and the others to perform the read-through, and then the audio was overlaid on the movie itself. And whoever portrayed Walt was spot-on. Sounded just like him. Amazing performance. So, surely, today's Imagineers could have found somebody to do a Walt voice for that AA. Its voice is no more accurate than its face. What a disaster all around.
I can’t get over with this AA. His eyebrows are too unkept bushy looking too.
Agreed. The eyebrows are too wild and bushy.
Even Stalin had an eyebrow threading lady from Tajikistan stop in at the Kremlin once a month. Some decadence you just have to accept, after all.

I guess they are trying to be PC and appeal to everyoneIt really is a mix of all of these doppelgangers - mathhau, cronkite, stalin, mypillow, cliff claven, and dare I say, even a touch of...

I realize this film is Walt in around 1965-66 but still you can see more "side by side" differences.
Yep, that's the way it is.Yes, and I for one think they did a decent job capturing Mr. Cronkite's likeness.
probably right all together, as for the bolded... Iger needs to go, in more ways than one. It was absolutely criminal to not use Walt's voice, this is a company that has an archives of endless recordings that could be used. I think they are going to find they may have to rethink that part. Its hurl worthy and a major turn off. I can't believe Imagineering thought that was a good idea, they were probably forced into the poor decision. This is something people really need to see in person to get the full effect.
Two dimensional, harshly lit video footage is not giving an accurate representation of what this figure looks like in the theatre setting.
Get yourself to Disneyland and see it for yourself at the Opera House.
Pretty sure some opinions may be changed after seeing it in person.
I have to say however that I strongly oppose Iger’s intro.
Completely not needed and smacks the wrong ways IMO.
As some here may be aware, I have had strong mixed feelings regarding this project since Walt himself was against having himself made into a AA.
He didn’t want that representation in his own Park, not even a statue which of course eventually happened.
But as a Animatronics enthusiast, even I am willing to give this presentation a change…and judge it only once experienced in person.
I can already tell from what little I have seen thus far that this is definately one of those times one needs to see this themselves before passing final judgement.
So go enjoy in person, folks.
And then let me know what you think.

That's another good one! Walter Cronkite!

Funny how all the guys who look more like this animatronic than Walt did were also named Walter. Cronkite, Matthau...
