MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Unfortunately there were a bunch of fake insiders leading up to that event. Mostly grifting off of Disney’s own 2022 showcase. I don’t think it was decided on late in the game. At least six months before D23 and worked on a good year before.

Even the one being quoted I’m skeptical of. My track record of getting things right for D23 that were actually not previously mentioned at the prior conference was higher and I literally knew nothing and educated guess like the best of them.

I include myself in this, I just didn’t want to listen to the very few people who actually knew when it came to Cars. Because it sounded worse.
Which “fake insiders” are you referring to, because I’m usually pretty discerning and remember the reports coming from folks with a proven track record of record.

Everyone who isn’t Martin (non participatory), Len or Steve. Yensidtlaw on the Disneyland side. One or two posters (whoever was big thunder, Haunted Mansion with respect to Lakeshore lodge) seem to have a contact or are near a specific project or partner that wouldn’t apply necessarily to WDI writ large.

Then, to my chagrin, Braydon externally. Who was talking about this Cars project for a while.

If anyone else had a verifiable new piece of information that wasn’t formerly floated by Disney, revealed at D23 or the last 24 months, I’m at a loss.

Just a guess, but perhaps the bridge will be replaced with one that no longer opens since watercraft won't be going in or out anymore.

The plans do show that part of the river being filled in so the bridge wouldn't be needed anymore.

Exactly my thoughts.

Those two lands (with Buena Vista Street) are doing so much heavy lifting with making that park thematically coherent.

The choice of IP for this project is unsettling to say the least. But there is a glimmer of hope that the best bits of Grizzly Peak and its' surrounding rock work (looking at you, gorgeous waterfall adjacent to Avengers Campus) will make this a unique Frontierland.

Still doesn't justify the removal of the RoA.
Yep. IF it actually looked like Grizzly Peak, I may actually be excited about this if it was going literally anywhere else. But destroying RoA for this is just not worth it.

The amount of water present gives me hope. It won't justify destroying the rivers, but I'm hoping there's plenty of paths and winding roads similar to the ones you could find on the island. Plenty of places to get lost.

I don't know that I would expect paths to get lost on...more like paths to the gift shop or queue...
you know like all the wonderful paths to get lost on in Toy Story Land...lol
