Tom Sawyer Island had more visitors today than in the entirety of the last calendar year.

Oh for sure…. But if there isn’t a Disney difference, what’s the point?Nearly everything can be justified in some way or another… but that’s not enough in the bigger machine
Because they improved the park by adding galaxys edge. Will this be an improvement?
Not to mention the other tiny difference - that Disneyland still has its river, island and riverboat.
Shortening the river is not the same thing as getting rid of it entirely. If they wanted to undertake a similar project in Florida I would be all for it.You missed the point… the fight isn’t about if it’s better or not… it was touching the untouchable and how the public would react.
Know what… if you make a good product you’d be amazed at what people start adapting to accept it.
Has something there… but not unmolested, not as much. Let’s be honest… the only portion most dl fans care about is making sure the riverboat and Columbia are still there.
TSI and the fort were lost hopes nearly 20yrs ago…. And nearly everything along the roa show scene wise was even worse
Knowing Disney they’ll chop it up and offer the pieces for sale for $$$. The cupcake brigade and duster squad will line up for that.I haven't heard a whisper. I hope you're right.
Farewell to the Rivers of America! I arrived at MK today at rope drop and spent almost the whole day on the RoA. It was a bittersweet day. I was able to ride the Liberty Belle’s first and last voyages down the river today (and once in between), I spent an hour and a half or two on TSI, and I rode the WDWRR multiple times, including the last trip with guests from Frontierland Station. I had an amazing time enjoying these attractions one last time. The perfect nightcap was watching the fireworks from the RoA. Over the years, the Liberty Belle has been tied with the WDWRR as my favorite attraction. It was something I could do with my grandmother, as she couldn’t see well enough to enjoy dark rides and she was in a wheelchair. It’s worth noting that presumably none of the 4 attractions replacing the RoA would fit that criteria. It’s majesty, beauty, the graceful manner in which it glided through the water, the whistle, the steam, the kinetic energy, the history, and so much more all drew me to this attraction. So, farewell old friend. God bless.
It looks like tonight they will be removing the Liberty Belle to the marina in Bay Lake.

The LB arriving for her final voyage this evening, I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed it.

CMs and guests lined the RoA cheering her on her last voyage.

The crew which was turning the bridge for her removal tonight cheered her on too.

Special effects testing on BTMRR?

CMs lined up to great the final guests as they exited. Park and resort leadership noticeably absent.

I don't think it's gonna stay at MK haha. Not enough space! As in its going to go up and down the creek they re keeping? Haha. They re going to dock it in Frontierland? Or they re just not destroying it and putting elsewhere at like The Grand Floridian or the Port Orleans hotels?t
Selling it means it's not safe. It's only safe if I can see it somewhere.I don't think it's gonna stay at MK haha. Not enough space!
I'd put a bet they're gonna have it somewhere at WDW or possibly sell it.
There's boat traffic, both Disney Transportation and guest recreation, on the Sassagoula River, so I don't think that would work, as cool as it would be. Docking it at Riverside would make SO much sense, but they'll never do it. Grand Floridian doesn't really make any sense, other than the fact that it sort of aesthetically fits, but I'll take it if that's what they want to do.If they were to build track for it would it be at all feasible for it to go back and forth between Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter? Even if just for some evening some dinner/ dancing cruises? I guess they could dock it and do that too.
lol you re going to minimize it to “something there” compared to MK losing its entire river and island and riverboat. Cmon, it was a poor comparison. Not to mention pretty much every guest facing part of the ROA / TSI was unchanged other than the back portion you could only see when riding the Mark Twain or other boats. To try to compare this to what they’re doing at MK is… a take. To the majority of guests what they did at DL didn’t change any of the experience.
Not sure I’m following. The only thing we care about are the boats? It’s the whole thing. It’s the atmosphere- the river and island anchor the entire west side of the park. The boats are one part of that.
