And you have to go back to the earlier part of the conversation where i said…I never said the castle was untouchable- I said it exists mainly as a backdrop and to provide atmosphere. Like the riverboat and rivers.
The adage 'pull your weight' still applies. Things require upkeep, labor, and represent an opportunity cost. If the return isn't worth the cost, you are likely going to be on the short list when some other resource becomes constrained or wants change.
The castle is seen as worth it… the things that don’t… be it atmospheric or attraction ultimately see change.
We’ve lost amazing atmospheric elements everywhere… be it the shaped trees along the monorail… gardens at epcot… fountains galore… entertainment left and right… we can go on and on. Point being is it’s not about ‘some value can be found’. Nearly everything can be justified in some way or another… but that’s not enough in the bigger machine
