Not only is this very sad, it's also going to look really horrible for a long time. First the river gets drained and lots of dirt/construction will be the view for years unless they put walls up all along the river which will look like crap itself.
At least it should take less than 5 years like the EPCOT debacle.

I’m not crying.
Not at all.

Who saw this double rainbow while cruising the Rivers of America today?

I saw it walking to the Tomorrowland Joffrey’s for more coffee!!!

A great blue heron was perched on the barrel bridge during the last trip by…. He looked at the island, watched us pass, and then flew off into the sunset. It was pretty cinematic!

Put in a Cars ride with LLMP or LLSP, then $$$$, Can't get that with Liberty Belle or TSI

But saying that means you have to acknowledge why… the demand isn’t there for people to be willing to pay for it. Because there is no excess demand to drive up waits… and not enough to justify paying a la carte for it either.

It existed mainly to be a backdrop and atmosphere…

If it’s just a backdrop for the side facing FL and liberty square… maybe the new thing will do that as well

I think it’s foolish to judge when we really don’t know their constraints nor teal goals.
I agree this is a little tricky to judge by itself. It’s got potential - but I don’t think there is enough space to get real speed - they aren’t talking about any dark ride elements - so what is it?

The rockwork and waterfalls will be there - hopefully at a grizzly peak / radiator springs scale.

But what is supposed to compel me?

With that logic, remove COP, HOP, Treehouse, and Tiki Birds. Never mind offering experiences that can be done almost immediately that round out being in a theme park instead of another attraction with a more than 1 hour wait. How stupid of me.

If CoP wasn’t tied to the big WF… i’m sure it would already be gone. The fact it’s not really the worst of TL’s problems is also probably some saving grace.

HoP… saved by being a low labor show offering an indoor diversion. It also still has steady draw.

Treehouse is hard to replace… but we’ve already seen the company molest it.

Tiki… same… we already saw the company violate it to try to improve demand and utilization…

You say ‘why not…’ - i think it’s obvious it already has happened…

I’m sure it’ll borrow from RSR and Grizzly River Run but it won’t be better than either one.

Kinda like… a castle?

So now any element is untouchable? Come on…

This bridge has been crossed by the company countless times over. The difference here is people not agreeing with the change… while closing their eyes to all the change before.

No not everything is a success… but the ‘not a museum…’ line was tailored to these exact kinds of arguments. People clinging to what was above anything else

I never said the castle was untouchable- I said it exists mainly as a backdrop and to provide atmosphere. Like the riverboat and rivers.
And you have to go back to the earlier part of the conversation where i said…

The adage 'pull your weight' still applies. Things require upkeep, labor, and represent an opportunity cost. If the return isn't worth the cost, you are likely going to be on the short list when some other resource becomes constrained or wants change.

The castle is seen as worth it… the things that don’t… be it atmospheric or attraction ultimately see change.

We’ve lost amazing atmospheric elements everywhere… be it the shaped trees along the monorail… gardens at epcot… fountains galore… entertainment left and right… we can go on and on. Point being is it’s not about ‘some value can be found’. Nearly everything can be justified in some way or another… but that’s not enough in the bigger machine

And many decried the idea of a single Ip land in Disneyland… while it also reduced the sacred RoA… and the lost jettisoned actual stories along the river.

Yet SWGE continues to thrive… while the old tales about uproar and doom are long dead
Because they improved the park by adding galaxys edge. Will this be an improvement? When you include villains land the answer i would give is hopefully? I can’t understand why this was necessary. I’m sorry I just can’t.
