Buddy of mine bought a new Sierra a few months ago. I’ve lost count of how many times he’s had to put it in the shop. This failure and that failure, this broke and that blew up. Tried to warn him about that GM crap.
Definitely a YMMV story. I've had a GMC Acadia for 8 years, 116k miles and no major issues and hope to have it for at least a few more years.

I read or watched somewhere they disabled all safety sensors during initial ride testing in the 90s. It said it was done as part of the system development since it was a first of its kind at the time. Anyway the story was the car flew around the loop, broke parts in the bogey or something like that, left the track and damaged part of the building requiring repairs and loosing a test car. Anyone know if that is a true story?
Trying to nail down the exact story will make your head spin, but yeah, some variation of this did happen. Spoke with someone who worked on TT 1.0 a few years back who was there that day, it was described as a big deal for everybody involved and something they did not want word getting out about.

Makes sense they did it from an R&D perspective and that they wanted to keep people getting freaked out.

2016 Silverado with every pattern failure known except a lifter failing, 165K so I'm due. GM is junk but what do you do? Toyota?

Test Track 3.0 more like Test Track 3 point oh yeah!

What an exceptional upgrade to an underwhelming ride.

In my view, this transformation turns Test Track from skippable to a great attraction worthy of its spot at Epcot.

The team did a tremendous job and executed with great care and an overall Epcot feel. My high hopes were far surpassed.

Now I’m very excited for the Figment and SSE overhauls

The most reliable vehicle I've ever owned was a 2005 Chevy avalanche. I traded it in at the end of 2019 with over 220k miles on it. No major problems. In the last year it started leaking oil everywhere I parked and I made the stupid decision that it wasn't worth getting fixed. One of my few regrets is not keeping that truck.

Ironically, I bought it because my wife and I saw it in the TT post show.

I agree with all of this. This team on SSE and or Figment would truly be special. (or even a new Mexico boat ride)

I just got off of Test Track. I have a CM friend.

While this is definitely an upgrade from TT 2.0, it’s definitely a one and done for us. It was cool to see some physical sets but the story wasn’t great and there was a lot of dead space I wish was filled with more story and things to look at. Overall this was just a slight improvement in my opinion.

If the SSE and Figment re-dos are good and we get an actual worthy successor to Reflections Of Earth, I might come back.

Dead space as opposed to a open warehouse?

Can confirm, definitely an improvement over TT 2.0. I'd say it's even in my mind with TT 1.0, BUT preshow and post show were definitely better with TT 1.0.

None of them are as good as WoM.

TT 1.0 post show had the factory effect but it was just the show room with small exhibit off to the side. I think 2.0 had the best post show of the 3 versions.

Hmm, it's possible I'm misremembering. I thought 1.0 had not only the vehicles on the floor, but also 2-4 rotating stages with shutters/curtains and video screens behind them. Then when they'd be revealed there would be unique music dependent on manufacturer. I guess 2.0 had the games to play, which was nice and interactive.
