I know this was from their earlier concept art, and none of that should be taken as Gospel Truth, but I was intrigued with the inclusion of the kid eating “monster” ice cream. I thought the idea of a dedicated ice cream parlor would be fun where Rizzo’s was. Does DHS have a dedicated ice cream spot already?
yeah, Hollywood Scoops on Sunset Bvld but definitely isn't as nice as like on Main St in MK

Plus they could call the place in Monstropolis Eye Scream :D
Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction is also in the park when it is open. Another example of Disney forgoing easy revenue for reasons.

Another website posted about the first Monsters Inc merchandise that is officially branded Hollywood Studios. Interesting that it came out so early. Maybe we’ll get more info at Destination D23?

Honestly, losing the table service Italian place was a big loss for my family. It was our go-to table service at DHS (specifically with the Fantasmic dining package). I hope Italian can make a return to this park, but I don’t think Monstropolis is the avenue for that.
While Harry Hausen's will likely be some kind of Japanese fusion type place, I am hopeful for the Quick Service

It is possible that it re-opens with a new iteration but same food.

I could see "monsters themed pizza" being fairly easy to shift too.

Like, a kids pepperoni pizza with pepperoni in the shape of Mike's eye or something.

Kinda just depends if they want to keep the intact infrastructure already there

I shamefully just loved Pizzerizzo and Pizza Planet and just want a new version😅

please no.

Both Mama Melrose’s and PizzeRizzo are horrid!

Converting a no frills Italian restaurant in an area geared for kids to a Japanese fusion restaurant seems like a miss unless they retain something for pickier eaters (like, pizza)

That's what the quick service next door is for

You don't 2 places for picky eaters right next to each other, in a park that already has several others nearby

guess depends on the kids - mine are super excited for Harryhausens as they love sushi and hated their meal at Mama Melrose lol

but yeah, the quick service shouldn't be too crazy (probably will be let down but hoping for at least a significant increase in quality vs Pizzerizzo though)

I was always disappointed that Pizza Planet didn't, you know, look like Pizza Planet. It should have been really cool. And good theming would have helped me forgive the bad pizza. There's nothing more on theme for an arcade than bad pizza.
I never understood why they didn't just partner up with those pizza companies you find in convenient stores. Gas station pizza is still a considerable step up from the Rat Pizza, and just as prefab. Or gone with a chain like Cicis with the understanding that while the restaurant is space-themed it'd also be "sponsored by" with the subtle branding.

I still say Pizza Planet as a concept, would have work better in MK. Looking ahead and now knowing they committed to keeping Buzz around a little longer... why not try again! Maybe in the CM parking lot up from where Main Street Theater was to go.

Back to Harryhausen's: I fully anticipate more casual traditional theme park fare honestly with Japanese Fusion influence but leaning heavily on the Monsters Inc theme to afford them the option to play with the menu, more forgiving food options. Still offering sushi, ginger salad and miso soup but... wouldn't be surprised to see Monsters Inc-inspired sliders or panko-breaded chicken fingers.

Same, honestly. Not expecting any sort of high-end Japanese restaurant.
