just how bad is All Star Sports..

Funny story - one time I was heading back to Sports from Epcot and the line for Sports was massive so I went in the line for Music figuring I’ll just walk back to Sports. The bus isn’t even half full going to Music so guess what happens next?

The bus pulls forward to the Sports stop and lets people on. It was the most crowded Disney bus I’ve ever been on. There was no way I would have made that bus had I gotten in the Sports line. Not only did I make it on to that bus and skip the whole Sports line, but I also got a seat.

Sports being the 1st stop is another overblown All Star busing misnomer….

Again, while we’ve never experienced the shared busing at All Stars before, it is well known that Sports isn’t the 1st Stop anymore as it’s has been reported many times, even by someone claiming to be the Driver, Disney rotated/rotates stops when sharing is happening. Yours is an example of the driver either asking or being prompted to grab the Sports crowd before heading back…

Supposedly they’ve even crafted some schedule to make sure Movies isn’t always the last in the rotation…

What's your point? I have been at Yacht Club when police were present.
And how ironic you bring up Yacht Club b in a shared busing thread….the Epcot Resort BLVD has the worst shared busing on property….when staying at Yacht we’ve NEVER not shared a bus with Beach Club, Boardwalk to MK or AK….it was even worse when S&D was part of the busing loop

It was after the fireworks at Epcot when this happened so nobody was going back to Epcot at that time. It makes sense for Sports to be the first drop off otherwise the buses are making extra left turns across traffic to double back.

I stayed at All Star Sports last November and it was great. I used the bus system to get to/from Magic Kingdom but had a rental car that I used for Epcot/HS. I enjoyed the room and it was quiet and clean. I think when the Pop Warner, cheerleading camps, or those kinds of events are in town that the resort is probably a bit of a nightmare with loud kids. However, I would not agree with people saying that the resort is bad.

I have stayed at all the resorts over the years. I actually like Sports quite a bit. Yes - it can be a zoo when there are large ESPN groups, and the shared buses can get long if you happen to hit theme. I am not sure when being around a lot of kids at the #1 family destination in the world should be a negative. They is a certain charm to not seeing only wealthy people and adults only. I like the vibe. It’s the same reason we only cruise with Disney - you see families. Also no casino, and no groups of ‘singles’ in hot tubs. Stay near baseball - there is a great pool there that is looks like a diamond.

yes.. but is this near the food court or the parking lot? we are both using scooters ...and I need access to my vehicle .. pop has been HOME for the past 6 trips.. its like not being allowed to go home.. like your family doesn't want you..

Just got back from WDW and one of the resorts we stayed at was the Sports. We had a great stay and stayed in the Hoops Hotel area and it wasn't a long walk to the main building. Our room was on the ground floor and we never heard our neighbors next to us or above us. The food court wasn't very busy and our buses were never shared, well once they were but it was at the end of the night leaving Epcot about 45 minutes after the close of the park and in that case the bus wasn't very full and we stopped at the Sports first for drop off. Our room was clean and serviced by housekeeping every other day. The only large tour groups we saw at the resort was on the day we left and then there were two coach buses of teen tour groups checking in but we have been at the Pop and seen just as many teen tour groups as well.

We stayed at All Stars for 10 years and once at Pop. I agree that the shared bus fears are a total myth. Never once was it ever an issue.

We have stayed at the Poly 4 times, and it definitely has made the GF less appealing because the buses always go from the Poly to the GF. There is always room on the bus, but few seats.

As for Pop, I will never stay there again due to the number of rooms per bus line. Pop has almost 1000 more rooms than All Star Sports. That proved to be a big deal when leaving MK, and the Pop bus lines were massive.

Sports is just fine as others have pointed out.

I’ll add: use some of your $$ saved to pay for a few uber rides back to the hotel (not from MK due to the TTC).

Skipping the bus when you’re tired is a great move.

I don't really know why, but we LOVE the bus trip back to the resort at the end of the day. Maybe it's the fact that the buses are always super-cold after a long, hot day. Or maybe it's simply the fact that it's become part of the routine and tradition now. But I honestly wouldn't trade the bus for an Uber. We find it very relaxing and enjoyable at the end of a long park day.

latest update.. i looked.. i kept looking .. and calling.. and now we are booked at Pop...sigh of relief..now to get the discount.. that we previously had.. oh and no rent a truck this trip either.. have secured a vehicle for the trip..
I like Pop. Convenient to Skyliner. However, the last two times I've stayed at All Star Sports, I enjoyed it very much. Of course, I booked for the least expensive resort with a discount. I was always able to get a ground floor room near the parking lot. As an AP holder, I drive to the parks. I met regulars at the pool bar. This resort is their go-to. It's everything I needed for just needing a place to put my head every night. So, I'm glad you got Pop but there is nothing wrong with All Star Sports.

Honestly, my only complaint is getting into or out of the All-Star resorts. The traffic light from Osceola backs up at peak hours with buses/cars and then trying to turn left to get onto Osceola is a similar challenge. Not terrible but that was my least favorite part of the resort. Of course, I'm not known for my patience so that played a role.
