MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Why do you feel that way?

I’m not into counting attractions and restaurants when I decide which theme park I’d like to visit. I can’t eat and every restaurant when I visit so who cares.

What matters to me are what is unique about this park that drives me to visit it over numerous other options.

If Hershey Park has unique rides I want to ride, it doesn’t matter if Dollywood has more. I’m going to Hershey Park.

The only people this clone mindset serves are Orlando locals who don’t want there to be a reason they would ever need to visit another park. It’s so tiring to hear the constant begging for attractions built at other parks.

I’m not sure I understand this at all…. The riverboat is a clone? The majority of MK is a clone then?

You don’t understand that people in Orlando are constantly begging for cloned rides from other Disney Parks around the world?

The MK is not Disneyland. And it needs to stop trying to be. Start leaning into creating your own identify. Hire someone from the OLC if need be.

It’s not hard to get to either park in 2025. They can differentiate themselves to no one’s detriment.

The Riverboat docked over by the Tom Sawyer rafts and used as a three storey snack stand with seating, while sad because it is not in service, would at the least, still be charming...a lovely place to sit with your ice cream or snack while you enjoy the vistas of the spectacular water features and rockwork ...and add a beautiful set piece to what is left of the water there.....
Move Aunt Polly’s onto the boat and it becomes the QS for beignets across from Tiana…WDW kills 3 birds with 1 stone…1) the boat stays ( with the loud sounds of the whistles), 2) Aunt Polly’s remains (albeit in a different place) & 3) WDW now has an awesome NOLA themed QS across from Tiana…

What does that have to do with this topic?

Unless you are saying the riverboat is a clone so it shouldn’t exist? (But then all the other “clones” should be replaced too?)

You seem to have an issue with Disneyland and the MK having a different number of attractions, restaurants, and shows.

I responded to you in saying the hard number of those items should not matter. What should matter are unique things that would cause one person to visit one over the other.

The OLC understands this and has been trying to differentiate their park at a breakneck pace. I wish MK leadership felt the same.

That’s as straight forward as I can get it for you.

I’m not sure I have “an issue” with it - just pointing out the facts.

I don’t think it’s a good thing that MK has closed restaurants and cut live entertainment while raising prices but that’s another topic and has nothing to do with your statements about clones.

Again, do you have a link?
And again, I've mentioned them getting rid of RoA completely and building a new river. That new river is not speculation, but the size of it is still speculation until it's built. If you are just going to keep ignoring what I'm actually writing, then what is the point of having this discussion. You don't like this project. I do. Let's just leave it at that at this point. But please let us actually discuss this project and the facts that have been presented without constantly being criticised and condescended for liking the project.

Here is some looking around that I did:

The more visited park should have more offerings to provide guests with a quality experience that isn’t consumed with overcrowding and high wait times.
Also longer operating hours…. Not just the park but individual attractions. When was the last time you could ride the WDW railroad or watch the tiki birds at midnight?

But those are both clones so they shouldn’t even exist in Florida.

The above is evidence is that people just like to argue for no good reason - why shouldn’t DLR have more than 2 deluxe resorts, 150 restaurants, golf courses, 2 water parks, larger shopping district, a world showcase, multiple scenic man made lakes with watercraft, etc. Disney could just spend a couple billion to buy out all the motels on Harbor and garden walk, then move westward into the suburbs but nooooo they are too cheap and have no idea what they are doing.

Which they are now addressing by replacing low utilization attractions with unique offerings that should spread the crowd more.

A bit late IMO but it is taking place.

why is that a reason the MK should have less dining, live entertainment, and attractions then DL?

Also…. The numbers don’t really support that. DCA gets more visitors than DAK for example - so the “majority” of DL guests must also be visiting DCA then.
What do you mean by less dining? MK has 3 more table service restaurants and a bunch of dining in the resorts immediately nearby.

But you aren’t considering MK in a vacuum! You need to ignore all that pesky stuff immediately outside that people can reach using Disney transportation.
I’m not ignoring that - but I’m also not ignoring that MK and Disneyland park have similar price points and similar yearly visitors. They are the top 2. One offers considerably more attractions, entertainment, and often operating hours as well for the same price point.

But I do realize this debate has gone on too long and this isn’t the topic of the thread beyond the idea that the riverboat and island are a “clone” so they should be eliminated for something unique. Which means virtually the entire MK park needs to be eliminated…. Which Bob seems to be heading towards!
