The issue isn’t liking the project. It’s you trying to be keeper of the facts when you don’t even know where to get a Document of factual information. You tried to wrap your own speculation, that does not follow the information available, as facts in order to shut down criticism.

Let's just recap what's actually happened This whole thing today has started with you replying to a post I wrote just saying that the dock area will remain and there will be a prominent water feature. I then just listed everything we know about the project from official press releases and just said what we don't know as fact yet which is the width of the new river. Yet, every time, you've accused my of making stuff up, all as speculation, as a way for me to "shut down criticism". I'm well aware of the criticism of this project and understand why people are upset about it. That doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to post on here with information we know about this project.

No matter what, to access the area where Villains goes up against the train tracks, the RoA would have had to be altered, particularly next to the Haunted Mansion queue to provide access from Liberty Square to Villains.

Small alterations that preserve overall attractions? Sign me up! Wholesale gutting? I’m not particularly attached to RoA but on principle I’m against any symptom of the continuing underlying issue that’s plagued WDW for some time now

What’s cheaper for Disney to do? Dig a new ditch and a narrower width or just keep the old one? I’m going to hazard than seeing as it’s cheaper to keep the old channel that most likely the width will remain the same.

They’re digging huge new ponds and a new canal to replace the water storage capacity lost by the removal of the Rivers of America.

It's nice to have attractions and similiarlities on both coasts. And it's nice to have some differences too.

Of course. The riverboat and Tom Sawyer island are different on both coasts - I like them both.

Just like the riverboat and adventure isle are quite different in Paris - which I also love.

I just watched a new POV walkthrough video of TSI last night (by 4K WDW, which is a great YouTube channel). While watching it, I started to really understand why TSI has not been busy for a while, and it has to do with the way TSI needs to be fully enjoyed. TSI was built to allow people to slow down a bit, and to indulge in discovery and exploration and old-fashioned childlike play and immersion in the Americana of yesteryear. The average modern park guest has the park commando mindset (at least partially), and if it isn't an attraction that they can knock off in 10 minutes and move on to the next, they're not interested. And all through the video, I kept shaking my head in disbelief that it will all be rubble soon. TSI and ROA have a heart and a soul that the new Cars attractions will never have. I have accepted that this change is happening, but after watching that video, it makes it feel like more of a mistake to me than it did before, but at the same time understanding why so many people are applauding the change.

Yeah we are losing 2/3rds of the river, even if they keep CBJ to BTMRR. That doesn’t disprove them potentially keeping the same width in the retained 3rd.

Engineer around it? Again, you’re pretending that is the ONLY space in MK (aka in the middle of existing lands) that can be developed on. The park is surrounded by available space and even has expansion pads set aside (most notably by AL, which almost became Moana). By any objective measure, RoA, or any other attraction in MK, is not a barrier to expansion. DL is different, as they are surrounded by strip malls, hotels and existing development that would cost millions to acquire yet they still manage to find ways to expand and minimize removals. You can debate the merits and what not of this project but it cannot be said objectively that RoA is a “barrier” and HAD to go

Ok now you are just arguing semantics - had to go as in what is reasonable with where they want to deploy their capital. Keeping an island that no one goes to, and requiring travel by barge 50 people at a time is not something they want to spend money on, and I agree with that. Remember Disneyland hasn’t closed , you can still enjoy your river

After the pandemic I no longer know what facts are or what science is.....

They’re not going to demolish a third of the basin to just rebuild it nearly as it was. Something that big would have still functioned for water management. There is not enough space to leave the lower third and fit the attraction and its associated scenery.

I believe the permits call for the entire area to have a uniform spread of dirt. Whatever water makes the final cut in Piston Peak will not resemble the Rivers of America, or anything like it

I think all the water shown. exists in real life. Obviously it's not as bright blue in real life.

the water features that exist are much smaller scale than the concept art.

Which is why I said “exaggerated.” I’m not 100% all of the waterfalls are there but they are such a basic trickle when they are on it’s hard to say.

I’m not into counting attractions and restaurants when I decide which theme park I’d like to visit. I can’t eat and every restaurant when I visit so who cares.

What matters to me are what is unique about this park that drives me to visit it over numerous other options.

If Hershey Park has unique rides I want to ride, it doesn’t matter if Dollywood has more. I’m going to Hershey Park.

The only people this clone mindset serves are Orlando locals who don’t want there to be a reason they would ever need to visit another park. It’s so tiring to hear the constant begging for attractions built at other parks.

I’m not sure I understand this at all…. The riverboat is a clone? The majority of MK is a clone then?

The MK is not Disneyland. And it needs to stop trying to be. Start leaning into creating your own identify. Hire someone from the OLC if need be.

It’s not hard to get to either park in 2025. They can differentiate themselves to no one’s detriment.

The Riverboat docked over by the Tom Sawyer rafts and used as a three storey snack stand with seating, while sad because it is not in service, would at the least, still be charming...a lovely place to sit with your ice cream or snack while you enjoy the vistas of the spectacular water features and rockwork ...and add a beautiful set piece to what is left of the water there.....

Move Aunt Polly’s onto the boat and it becomes the QS for beignets across from Tiana…WDW kills 3 birds with 1 stone…1) the boat stays ( with the loud sounds of the whistles), 2) Aunt Polly’s remains (albeit in a different place) & 3) WDW now has an awesome NOLA themed QS across from Tiana…
