I pulling hard for Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now. That song needed to be used on a Roller Coaster YEARS ago

I thought about that but if this is gonna be a large band with multiple singers. Add in the fact that the band itself has always had a sort of 70s feel to it. I can also not imagine one of the muppets having a voice as good as freddy mercury.

Probably not a good idea for Disney. While that song is now generally interpreted in a sanitized way, the meaning Freddie Mercury originally intend was not family-friendly, let's say, and we would be in an analogous situation to the hand sign of Steven Tyler's that had to be edited out.
I would suggest "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar but that's not really their style.

Considering how rushed this project appears to be, I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't use Can You Picture That from the tv show.

The Mayhem soundtrack has several good options (including a pretty good cover of KISS’s Rock & Roll all Nite)
Im hoping for a medley of classic songs seamlessly blended together with alt lyrics that keep it family friendly yet distinctly Muppets using puns and wordplay with a funky rock style befitting Electric Mayhem. Anything short of that, is a fail.
And wouldn't be opposed to a cameo from Weird Al.

I have a hard time believing that neither of your parents could recognize Kermit the Frog.
My elementary age kid can figure out how to get on to social media (not that I let her)— so we can’t rule out this like like 10 year old whose parents had him/her before they were teenagers.

I fully expect the soundtrack to be culled from existing tunes the Electric Mayhem have already recorded through the years.
The recent Mayhem album being a prime example, with perhaps a throwback to the original recording of ‘Can You Picture That’.
It would be a nice surprise to have new material, but I have doubts the time and money would be invested in this overlay.
However, if they did go the route ala ‘GotG : Cosmic Rewind’ and just licensed songs then anything is possible.
Someone above mentions Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’.
Not sure where the idea is coming from that this song was originally written by Freddie Mercury in a naughty vein.
As a long term Queen fan my understanding is this is a recent perception.
The song would ‘fit’ the ride in my opinion, and a Muppet version would likely be a fun plus.
Queen’s guitarist Brian May by the way is a huge Muppets fan and would be okay with this.
I can say this with certainty.
Disney owns the rights to the Queen catalog in the USA and that has not changed with the recent Sony Music buyout of the bands work.
So anything is possible.
I personally don’t see this happening.
This will be a cheap and quick overlay…but hey, maybe they will surprise us.
I would think to appease the negative outcry with the closing of ‘MuppetVision 3D’ they would want to insure this is done ‘right’.
But we shall see…..

Brian May has spoken about his initial disapproval of the lyrics, which he believed encouraged the kind of dangerous partying that Freddie Mercury was then indulging in. But yes, he didn’t divulge this until a few years ago, and the song won him around eventually.
(The naughtiness is undeniable, by the way: “I am a sex machine, ready to reload”.)

Alkaline Trio’s cover of “Movin’ Right Along” is the song that should be played. A classic Muppets original. It’s about being on the road. Rock and or roll styling. A possible dash of moral panic. It’s got everything.

Well Disney has no idea how to use the muppets and therefore has been destroying them and their popularity over the years with bad movies and show attempts.
Now they plan to make it worse closing M3D and throwing them into an attraction that makes no sense.
The muppets and all the characters and personalities could be popular with adults and kids if they understood and used them right

Of course, I doubt Gonzo will even be in this attraction. At least Dave Goelz will still be present in the parks as Figment over in EPCOT.
