It's been so long that we have the live action Stitch now. So can't they just turn the lights on and call it a new ride.
If only, but no.

"Lights on" would render the harness and binaural audio effects pointless. For this to still function, it has to pretty much stick to its older format (in the dark) or just rip it all out entirely for something else.

A compromise could be had by introducing a "glow with the show" component that could keep younger children engaged while not affecting the show, as part of the show's storyline... maybe. But these are hypotheticals.

Short of keeping it mostly the same, there's not a great short term solution. Plus AA Stitch is scraps.

Hypothetically, if they still had everything in its old place (I know they don't), could they have reprogrammed/otherwise modified the animatronic Stitch to be something they could control in real time and do a Turtle Talk with Crush kind of thing?

Stitch has the weird speak pattern thing that would be a hurdle, but I still think people would've liked that. More than Laugh Floor, since it's Stitch.

Hmm, maybe but him not actually moving and bounding around the room, greatly hampers his character traits. It'd be like keeping him in invisible shackles. Not a great way for the children to interact with him.

They actually have this exact concept as Stitch Encounter in a number of the foreign parks - I think Paris, Tokyo and Shanghai all are operating at this time. It obviously could be done. That said, I think it is a more likely concept to put into the Laugh Floor space if/when that gets removed.

I don't know....but Stitch still doesn't feel like Tomorrowland... Yeah I know his origin, but the film is not really a Tomorrowland type story.... Which I guess is how Stitch ends up in Adventureland in Tokyo. I would love to see them do something as well thought and and designed the original Alien Ancounter or Timekeeper across the esplanade. Those were both great attractions... Timekeeper just needed an updated film and destination...maybe some additional in-theater effects....the premise was great.....

I think the saving grace in Stitch is that he has proven to be malleable to literally almost any other land or IP.

After all, the promotionals for the original Lilo & Stitch featured him animated into various other Disney movies.

So really, I could easily see him being spirited into Big Thunder when it reopens.

Big Grizzly Mountain at Hong Kong features a bear cub accidentally blowing up a cavern by sitting on an ignition plunger…it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see Stitch doing something similar.

My guess is that Stitch gets a placeholder attraction similar to the Villains show in Tomorrowland. Some kind of multimedia show with maybe a handful of animatronics. Enough for him to have a presence as other projects get built - and if he’s still going strong after Villains is completed, he may get a dark ride or something like that.

The whole joke in those is that he's blatantly out of place and doesn't fit in.

I actually kinda would like someone who has not been involved in the parks thus far to get to the top. It is much easier for someone who has not been a part of previous cycles to break them than it is for someone who created said cycles to do so.

At this point it is pretty evident the two front runners are her and Josh. Between the two, she is the better option for not just the studio, but for the parks
Honestly, It would be best if they went either someone completely outside of the company…but someone with a CREATIVE background. The last time Disney made a smart move for CEO was in 1984 with Michael Eisner….but just like everyone, after a matter of time even the best can make poor decisions and need to be replaced. I think Disney should limit their CEOs to a max of 15 years. Get some fresh blood in there now and again and keep things interesting. Eisner lost it after all the cost cutting and near severing of ties with Pixar in 2005, and Iger basically has been in charge now for 20 years….his best years are way behind him now.

I honestly just think Stitch is deserving of more than a show. There's a lot that could be done with Stitch in ride form that I feel has been really unexplored.

I often forget about the cruise lines because thus far we’ve been a parks family, but I feel the likelihood of Stitch getting significant representation on an upcoming ship (or, somewhat less likely, one of the Keys or Aulani) is pretty high.

This seems like it might be the most likely in the near future as IP in the parks is often on a long timetable. In the past few decades, Encanto is the fastest turnaround that comes to mind in and that will be about 7 years from movie to ride when all is said and done (and for most IP, even popular IP, it’s a much longer wait.)

Now that Disney owns the rights to Alien how about *gasp* retrofit the building to be the based on the original alien encounter concept with the xenomorph. The franchise is still super popular and so many generations have grown up with those original films. They can even tone it down and base it on the more action heavy James Cameron ALIENS.
