DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

An empty space can be some of the worst conditions in an open theme park because empty above ground doesn’t mean empty below ground. Site prep isn’t something you just want to rush and isn’t easy to notice changes. It’s a common phase of work that people complain is taking too long. Then steel will start to go up and people will comment about how fast everything is moving. Then they’ll be working inside a box and we’ll return to comments about work being slow.

I remember when they were working on Avatar there was a permit for exploratory excavation to locate underground utilities.

Only issue with trying to get The Emperor's New Groove into Tropical Americas is that you really don't have that the movie doesn't have that strong of a connection to animals and the Encanto and Indiana Jones rides are really kind of stretching it in terms of connecting it to animals, but I wouldn't hate to see The Emperor's New Groove into TA or the parks in some form
I've said this before, but I could hypothetically see a show similar to the Pocahontas show they had in Camp Minnie-Mickey themed to the Junior Chipmunks and hosted by Kronk. Unless they'd do that, yeah, it's a stretch.

At least the main character is an animal for most of the movie. That's more than you can say for Indiana Jones.

The main characters of Pocahontas and Avatar are also not animals, but in focusing on the animals and natural environments in both films, they found a fitting place at the park. You repeat this point ad infinitum when it’s not a particularly good one. More relevant concerns exist.

A crane has arrived on the site for the Encanto attraction

The stuff near the crane is sheet pile. They may be creating a new retaining wall further back.
I think it might be that or something to do with the Encanto show building itself as idk where they need a new retaining wall unless they're replacing the retaining wall by the Finding Nemo stage show building as it does look like they're keeping that seeing as it hasn't been demolished yet and the fact it doesn't seem like it's going to get replaced based off of that permit.

Yeah, it could be for the foundation of the show building.

The drawing shows where a new retaining wall is required. You can see the chamfered corner of the existing wall in the underlay. The line between the green and yellow above that is where you need a new wall to support the portion of the berm that will remain. They could also be replacing portions of the existing wall.

Most showbuildings are steel structures without any sort of significant foundation at the columns, and even they aren’t typically very deep. Sheet piling such as this would be for a pretty sizable basement component. Just given the timing this seems more likely for site work than building work.

This is different from original info. The Boneyard was supposed to live through 2025.
