EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

You could skip it, nobody forced you to stay in the room the whole three minutes. Even if they did, it's no different than being held at a preshow like any other attraction. The majority of people who ride Test Track (or any Disney attraction for that matter) are only doing it once as well.
Correct and i did skip it. I feel like some might not have known they could though.

Following up on my previous comment, I do think 2.0 was cool but a bit half baked....some concepts that had more potential than they used in the end. I do wish it had been plussed a bit over the years.

The family from Denver analogy is an excuse not to go all in on design and to settle for good enough

I skipped it a bunch with single rider and saved many hours in total of wait time over the course of 2.0s existence.

I think it was cool in theory but not everyone wanted to do it every ride. I think putting it in the post show only would be a good idea.
nobody was forced to do it and it only replaced time spent waiting in line so it was only a positive. Quite frankly IMHO the design center is one of the best things that modern WDI has done at Epcot and it really enhanced the attraction - the drawback was simply the lack of using the designs more during the ride where it could/should have interacted more.

Personally, I think using the car design and aesthetic of 2.0 with the physical effects of 1.0 would have made a killer Test Track.

Do we know for sure that the car design is going away?

I didn’t personally mind it at all, but the people i go with always wanted to skip it. We would compromise and do the design every so often.

Was at EPCOT yesterday so I went by the site, not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but they’re in the process of painting over the blue trim around the entrance with black paint.

Also caught the back of the apparently new speed display through the trees, unsure if this is noticeably different

I'll wait until I see it in person to full judge - and especially want to see it at night with whatever lighting package they did

but initial impressions are a bit simplistic and would have been an opportunity to put some greenery in there to tie into the one concept art we have seen from the ride which seemed to differentiate it from prior versions

This is just lazy...
Could have been water, shrubbery, boulders, but they just went to Home Depot to get some rocks. Also, 10 bucks says that low curb becomes a tripping hazard.

They decided to go with rocks so people can chuck them at the monorail when it goes by. First person to knock out a headlight will receive a free drink of his or her choice at GEO-82*.

*Offer only valid with the purchase of a minimum of 3 drinks. Must be a DVC Member or an Annual Pass Holder.
