I would have preferred they kept Monsters Inc but restart from scratch and overhaul that section of improved Los Angeles/Hollywood area. But that just me.

I think they can extend Buena Vista St and absorb the good parts of Hollywood Land, but cut the rest. It needs to drop the Hollywood Land moniker though because they will never build a better Hollywood experience than USH which is in Hollywood.

Im happy they're keeping the Hollywood section as it connects to Buena better and also I have a theory the way they'll connect Pandora into the Cali theme is you'll walk into a movie theater facade for the highest grossing films ever and enter them. kinda like the theater facade they just did at Paris

I think based on the concept art, it will be an outdoor setting, but maybe enclosed like Super Nintendo World, to ensure it's fully immersive.

So perhaps they extend the facade (yellow), you can keep Fairfax Market, Schmoozies, but basically close off the current entrances to the backlot with a Hollywood facade.

Build a new exit for Philharmagic, that comes back out directly onto the street (pink arrow). Green arrows possible entrance and or exits for Avatar, through the wall?

Think Epic Universe portal into World of Avatar type thing?
Ignore my above comment, didn't realize someone had the sam idea and also hope this is true!

If they go this route I hope they take more of MMRR approach instead of backlot/ behind the scenes approach.

This was an image I put together a year ago with the concept of the westbound monorail track being rerouted per plans from the old Eastern Gateway concept (red line) and the possible area for Aland highlighted in yellow-

Also found this interesting little oblique mockup in my folder (I have no clue what the red squiggle is in this one)-

What fascinates me most about the new release from Disney-

This artwork shows the eastern gateway bridge going OVER the westbound monorail track and continuing along its original route (vs being rerouted and keeping on the northside of the walkway ramp). This would put it crossing Aland's possible/likely footprint dead center (see my 1st image above).

I wonder what they're planning...

Hiding/obscuring it with rock facades and projection mapping of oceans? I think someone (may have even been you) mentioned this idea at one point in this thread over a year ago as one way of still having the land in HWL without moving the monorail.

There appears to be a large screen that will be looking out to the sea/distance (second image is the original concept art). Looks pretty interesting to me and I wonder how they're going to blend it in with the sky or surrounding environment.
I know it won’t happen, but Avatar seems like a good IP to have a complete indoor land, similar to Little Mermaid at DisneySea

I suspect the old Avatar area art is going to be looked at, in retrospect, as not very accurate in terms of layout, and more of a "how we want you to think the area is laid out."

This new art, being very low to the ground, no large vistas, is more accommodating to the constraints of things like still needing the monorail to come through on its same path.

I have a feeling the rockwork and the area is a lot smaller than we originally thought. It wouldn't be hard to imagine this around the size of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Could be larger but it certainly doesn't have to be Spaceship Earth-sized.

I think the layout is going to be more like this:

I just painted right over the image you provided, Moonraker. (Disregard the bits of Pandora rockwork running along Harbor.)

I think they're going to keep the monorail right where it is, and all of the rockwork is going to obscure it.

Yk seeing the Pandora mockup makes it look like they wouldn't even need to reroute the monorail and that its hidden in rock work. Also anyone else see how weird Tomorrowland looks, sign of a new TL? Fingers crossed
