As a POV creator (not really vlogs, just POV videos) from out of state, I do it honestly more for the fact that I enjoy it than anything else. I don't make money off it. When it comes to filming, I don't use flash photography or video lighting, I turn my screen to the lowest possible brightness and put it in dark mode, I don't use selfie sticks or extension poles at all except a gimbal stabilizer which doesn't extend and a tripod for shows which doesn't go above the height of my head, and I don't stop in the middle of walkways or talk loudly during rides or shows. I don't say this as self-promotion, I say this because we aren't all bad. Of course, there are the annoying or downright bad creators, but lumping everyone in under that umbrella isn't really fair.

There will be excitement but I think Disney is overplaying its hand a bit with acting like they’ll be full to capacity in July.
Who is saying that?
See you at the ghost town on the 20th. It will be packed and I suspect you know that. If not just wait. But will admit surprises that it's this wide open right now. It's definitely not a great summer for WDW. I don't think the problem is exclusively due to Epic.

Epic is salt, a lot of salt, in several self inflicted wounds that WDW has done. Paying the piper here AND a really great product opening up just down the interstate. It's a one two punch for sure. I hope it wakes them up.

I don't really think it will. :(
…are you gonna be there the 21st? 22?
How about the 26th??

“Packed” is relative and not sustained. So where are they?

I don’t know. It seems like it could be fun. I wish I could quit my day job and do the thing I love for a living.
Do you really think these people are “making a living” and have a future once this is done?!? Listen im sure there may be a handful that can say that but realistically this to me is not a realistic plan to support yourself and retire

There are roughly 8.5 billion inhabitants of the planet who have that opinion…it’s not that simple.

The backlash boils down to a few things:

1. It’s been done…it’s saturated already
2. It’s free PR for Disney which isn’t actually good for them (you’ll come to realize this down the road
3. It’s not good for the individuals either. Working for free is rarely wise.

They are approving enormous amounts of spending but they sat on their hands here about two years longer than they should have. Tropical Americas should have been planned for 2026 with the subsequent projects a year earlier than currently planned.

But, at least they are finally getting things moving this summer. I’m not devastated that my family is taking 2026 off from WDW to explore other places. I can wait to see the new track on BTMRR….lol
Chapek left in 2022.

The company has been in recovery mode since as he basically decimated a lot of trust and goodwill Disney use to have with its creatives.

Remember when Imagineering was like a revolving door with so many talented folks leaving.
but realistically this to me is not a realistic plan to support yourself and retire
Do you know how much these bloggers are making off ads alone ?

Some even have sponsorships/endorsement deals which is a must for sustaining yourself in this field of work.

This is 2025 not 1950 a lot of people have multiple streams of income not just a desk job.

Once it’s done? Why would it be done? Also who says you have to retire in this scenario?

I truly would love to know what these people are making where we are calling it a living & how much they saving for retirement… listen there are sooooo many out there im sure some are by sheer numbers but again would love to know what people are making. Ill take my “desk job” & the passive income im able to generate now over bloggers any day of week. When i retire i can do just what they do anywhere in the world. Seriously tho. Does anyone have an idea would these people are making? 100k? 200k? 300k?

I mean, sponsorships can land anywhere from a few thousand up to several hundred thousand dollars, and that's just one sponsorship. Some of these people have numerous sponsorships, Patreon, YouTube memberships, merch, plus the income generated by socials like Twitter or YouTube. That's not even to mention the donations to live streamers. At, say, 300k subscribers, when taking advantage of all the opportunities, you could make potentially 250k a year before tax.

Okay so that you would say is the max? & im assuming few & far between also? Now add in what its costing & expenses add in your time less taxes. Im not saying its not a living but not something imo can be sustainable forever & not enough to be saving any real money to retire.

You don’t think those people are being smart with their money or potentially investing it ?

I mean yeah. That doesn’t mean everyone does it. Doing what you love means something different for everybody.
1. It’s been done…it’s saturated already
And yet plenty of people are able to find their own corner of the internet and be successful there.
2. It’s free PR for Disney which isn’t actually good for them (you’ll come to realize this down the road
Being a vlogger or being on the media list doesn’t mean you never criticize.
3. It’s not good for the individuals either. Working for free is rarely wise.
It’s not working for free. People can and do make money off the internet. I think you know this.

…ahhhh…I do appreciate your optimism

And yet plenty of people are able to find their own corner of the internet and be successful there.
so that means keep it coming? Now it’s time for everyone to “pay the price” and gets some?

Being a vlogger or being on the media list doesn’t mean you never criticize.
not saying that…I’m saying Disney management is already terrible…they don’t need a legion of clingers churning out pods giving the impression that what they’re doing is gonna work as they move forward.

It’s not working for free. People can and do make money off the internet. I think you know this.
until people move on…then where will these drifters be?

1. Thank you!
2. I’m not sure what you mean by “pay the price” but yeah there can be multiple different versions of a “product “ in an attempt to be somewhat on topic by this coming July magic kingdom will have had 3 different night parades each with different styles to cater to different generations and audiences.
3. it’s more nuanced than that.

until people move on…then where will these drifters be?
4. This trend shows no signs of becoming unpopular. Ps. Sorry for the weird format. Sites acting weird.

The bigger ones can hit those numbers, but it is not consistent and like showbiz, it's constantly competitive.

There is more money from supporters than what youtube pays in most cases.
