MK The Hall of Presidents closing for refurbishment on January 20, 2025

I agree but a cool down zone would be better than another shuttered building with no function at all in MK.
but there is no reason for it to be shuttered... People still go into it... People still enjoy the show... The audience for this show is not the same as the Be Our Guest Singalong or Monsters Inc Laugh Floor....and it doesn't need to be.
They actually have shuttered buildings in the Magic Kingdom that really need to be addressed...not creating a problem where one doesn't really exist...

I wholeheartedly agree but the post I was responding to was part of a discussion about what would happen if they did close HOP and I was pointing out that even if they just had stuff playing on screens for people to come and go as they please (as someone else suggested) would be better than another Stitch situation.

I don’t disagree. But I really think they’re trying to figure out how to get rid of it. I feel like traditionally they reopen after inauguration by July 4th and we have heard nothing.

Just checked and in 2021 it reopened Aug 3rd and 2017 it reopened on December 19th

In 2009 it did open on July 4th, but the fact it isn't open yet isn't outlandish

I predict we get an update on this in the next week. And I think, based on nothing but hope for my own trip, that they will announce it opens July 4 (or July 2 or whatever makes the most sense).

As much as some posters here would wish this attraction closed, Bob Iger and Trump met at the White House after the DL AD announcement where Trump touted the new park and gave it his blessing. Based off how important their relationship is to that new project, I highly doubt this show will close. Tom Bricker at DTB had a good update to his article explaining this.

You could be right, but my feeling is none of the top people want to get rid of it, but do not want to just have a yelling match between the show and the audience. My prediction is that they are going to forget the place exists for the time being in hopes that the problem will go away. It won't, of course, but even we have made some suggestions that might be a simple change where all the Presidents except Lincoln get equal exposure past or present.

I think you're right, if only to absorb crowds who would have ridden Liberty Belle or gone to TSI after July 6.

We’re all gonna look real dumb when they announced this place is just reopening as normal
The sole supporting factor for that belief in my mind is that it's a flagship attraction, being a staple of Magic Kingdom since opening in 1971. But that isn't to say it couldn't pull an Under New Management à la Tiki Room. I think it'll reopen, yes. But I'm not convinced it'll be the same show.

I have a strong feeling it won't be re-opening as the Hall of Presidents, Hopefully whatever comes is less objectionable than Tiki Room Under New Management.
