News Disney Parks Chief Josh D'Amaro Says Pricing Model Aims to Keep Vacations Affordable for Families

The whole gist of the joke was Josh thinking it was affordable in general, not comparatively to other restaurants in the same general price point category.
It’s just such a useless comparison

First, i’m a fan of V&A’s. Always have been. and it is a lot cheaper than Michelin restaurants generally speaking

But it’s a complete outlier. That’s not their lane. To attempt to make further inference is silly.

Nothing says “ high class” like a kid running out of the potty next door in his stitch hoodie towel enroute to the pool

Today is Friday May 30, 2025, Josh D'Amaro thought about affordability today, specifically he found out that it is much more affordable to buy two Halloween Party Tickets at double the price versus one a regular price.

Josh is off for the weekend, going to somewhere fancy to do rich guy things and not have to think about the poors like yourselves, so no pondering about your needs until Monday or Tuesday.

Exactly. We build Disney parks and resorts, so know the design implications, funding, costs, ect. You throw out one liners about the 80's and 90's and make unsupported references about things you have no date for.
As purported consul for CSCEC shouldn’t you be more careful about publicly representing positions of your company in a public forum? I mean isn’t not saying more than you are required to say lawyering 101?

You do a lot of engineering/design there, professor?

No date for? We’re gonna play the memory game? I’ll always strap one on for that. 👍🏻

…a rather amateurish breach of protocol…wouldn’t it seem?

Their tasting menu appears to be one of the most expensive of the Michelin star restaurants in Florida.

especially for a single star location ...

Only ate their once and absolutely loved it and hope to be back again, but for what it is, compared to many other similar level options, it isn't inexpensive

V&A’s is fine…

It’s an achievement to be rated for what and more importantly WHERE it is…

But I’m just discounting the minimum 25% mandatory Disney owned upcharge. That’s not even debatable. We pay it for everything in that zip code. No nuance.

So, would 3 Halloween party tickets that cost triple the price be even more affordable? I don't fully understand D'Ameconomics.

Like all carnivals there is a charge to get in the tent. Then another fee to see whats behind the curtain in the tent.
Like all carnivals you can pay someone to cut in line.
Like all carnivals you will have drunkards, patrons fighting and questionable to darn right despicable adult decisions.
Like all carnivals you have con man worried that you might leave with money still in your pocket. So they listen carefully for the rattle of extra coin to be had.
Like all carnivals they are amazing as a child. But then you get older and the trickery becomes ironic and accepted.

Like all carnivals they are fun. But should never be fully trusted. Especially from the barker telling you how he's giving you a deal.
A number gullible enough fall victim to this not just carnivals. A number line up hook line and sinker and drink the peddling kool aid. As WC Fields said - there’s a sucker born every minute.
