Fair, although Uni tends to exaggerate waits and they're still experiencing inefficient operations, so I'd wager it's lower than the 17K, but close

17k also assumes everyone is in standby... @lentesta do you know the approximate ratio of standby to express pass and USO? if it's 50% of the capacity then there are only ~8,500 people in the standby line.

EDIT... also do you know on average how much USO inflates their wait times (10%?)

UO's numbers are a trade secret, but overall in the industry, 10-30% padding is normal.

Based off of my own math as a regular park guest, Universal averages 17%, while Disney averages 20%, and Sea World averages 10%.

Keep in mind though, that these are averages AND anecdotal based off of my own experiences at these parks. Additionally, I'm am beyond sure that they're adjusted to account for lightning lane/express pass sales for a day (as are merge ratios)

Based off of my own math as a regular park guest, Universal averages 17%, while Disney averages 20%, and Sea World averages 10%.

2) USO gives 20% capacity to express pass
3) Express wait is 25% that of standby

Gives ~16,000 people on rides or in line

EDIT: Also Len said 46-60% of guests are either on a ride or in a line at any time... so that gives us 26000~34,000 people in the park

Monsters Unchained and Battle were down a bit earlier, but everything is running now today, it's much heavier than the last several days were. (Chart is from thrilldata, but matches the UO app)

They are at the 22,000 plus capacity going forward.

Next week it may jump a bit more.

Again, every person waiting in these long lines now have paid at or super close to full price to be there.

The place is a hit, to say the least.

When it is good you don't say no to the money.

That first week because of the grand opening effect would have been the most insane from day ticket buyers along with the onsite hotel guests, which you take care of first.

The dates before this had near this number, but they were added in Early May for Late May after things were working to get the full go.


It is still not at full number.

This is why last week I said don't get rid of those Express Passes if you already bought them and were thinking not needed for one day.

happy to report that the fish in the Atlantic restaurant are both swimming and glowing as of last Saturday 5/24! Very glad we got to experience the park with low wait times as the crowds have hit! I also got to ride Harry Potter and the Battle At the Ministry twice, which was almost unthinkable when we did our preview. Overall, it’s a great ride. MU definitely seemed smoother vs when we did our preview a month ago and the effects were mostly working! We rode Donkey Kong twice in a row as the audio did not work the first ride. As it turned out, we got on the exact same mine cart the second ride and so neither time had the onboard audio haha. We were also fortunate enough to get a refund on our Express Pass which was nice. Definitely seems needed though now. Overall, a fantastic day and a fantastic park.

At Epic or in general? I don't think there's 50% Express Pass right now. I would be surprised if it's 20%.

I did a VIP tour on Saturday and the lines were already dropping by the time we were done.

am i correct that you work for the WSJ...if so, their analysis of stocks is often pretty spot on...i'll bet that the VIP tour was amazing!

Are we quite certain they are already selling max capacity? There’s a discrete difference between ticket volumes between June 30/July 1.

At Epic... I'm trying to figure out a rough estimate of how many people are in the park based on wait times, capacity, Express pass capacity, and your 46=60% are on rides/in line rule.
