And for out-of-staters, there comes a point in which the AP is cheaper than day-tickets (around 12 days or more).
A current out-of-state AP is $1650 with taxes. A 10 day (most you can currently purchase at once) park hopper (to be comparable in benefits) is $918 with taxes.

Its more than that now.
Depends when you go.

AP is $1,550

6 days in October and then another trip of 6 days in December (which is when I go), the tickets with hoppers cost: $1,710.

Those 12 days are more than the AP.

Now, August and September, those two day-ticket trips cost $1,370. Cheaper than the AP.

Since I usually go 3 times a year, AP wins hands-down.

Yeah usually two longer vacations a year breaks even give or take.

It's buying the hopper for each trip that makes multiple purchases of day-tickets much more expensive.

It would be great if WDW said, "Hey, last time you were with us in this past year, you bought a hopper additions. So, we're going to had a hopper to this set of tickets for free!"

I can dream...

Would be nice. I've got an 8 day hopper this summer. And potentially 1 or 2 trips in the year after (but only 1-2 days each) and it's barely breaking even. If I don't take one of those trips I'm out money.

If I'm getting this right, one could...

1. Reserve MK for the day.
2. Tap into MK early in the morning.
3. Immediately hop to any other park because you tapped into your reserved park first.
4. Come back later to MK to be hypnotized by the night parade.

OR....

1. Reserve MK for the day.
2. Wait until 2 PM to enter any other park.
3. Go later to MK to be hypnotized by the night parade.

OR, if it's a Good-to-go Day....
1. Reserve MK for the day.
2. Go to any other park first at any time without tapping into MK first.
3. Wind up hypnotized at MK
No matter how you slice it, you must have a park reservation for MK for that day. How you handle that day as an AP is up to you. The point is you can come back for the evening to see the parade. I could be wrong but my reading is that if you have a park reservation at any other park, "temporarily", you cannot park hop back to MK after 2pm during the initial run of the parade.

I also take the AP discounts into the equation. Especially the discounted resort rooms.

It doesn’t say reservation for MK, just theme park reservation.

“Annual Passholders must hold a theme park reservation to visit Magic Kingdom at any time of day — even after 2:00 PM“

Which sounds like any park reservation should be fine. Maybe?
Then why specify any "changes" at all if nothing changed. APs already have to hold a park reservation to any park, unless a Good to Go Day. No, you must hold an MK park reservation for that day to see the parade, unless a Good to Go Day presumably.

"If you’re a Passholder planning to catch the Starlight parade, make sure you secure your Magic Kingdom reservation early. "

Be careful, someone may call you a filthy, fish-eating, freeloading piece of AP scum who is taking up space that the millions of tourists begging to be let in but can't get in because AP scum like yourself are taking up all the spots.
I don't care what they think of me. I'm just concerned with how I manage three dozen peanut butter sandwiches on the plane.

DFB claims Disney told them this doesn’t impact hopping. Any park reservation at any park suffices.

I was wondering the other day, why does MK always have trouble with the smaller floats & the trolley tracks? The smaller floats in BTY & the original FoF always tried to avoid the trolley tracks cause they would get stuck but at DL they drive all over the tracks with no problem. Is their design planning really that bad that they can't remind themselves to get thicker wheels like PTN uses?
