Except one is Disney and the other isn't. Good Disney news is always acceptable here.
I don’t recall anyone saying MI is not good…. I have not seen either yet so I have no idea…. I hope both do well as I want Theaters to do well…. Though it is not tough to guess who will win the weekend… MI has never been a billion dollar franchise…. In fact I don’t even know if MI ever opened in the 80’s… while Stitch is one of Disney’s most popular characters

Didn't say it wasn't good. In fact, I've enjoyed the entire run of them since the original in '96. L&S came out in 2002. It's just not made by Disney which some have a basis for.

I was just responding to inferring that people saying Stitch will be better than MI quality wise…. And I have not seen that… maybe a couple said they did not care for MI…. But that spoke to more their preference and not that the quality of either film….

Makes sense.

MI is all about the stunts performed by Cruise. From what I'm hearing L&S is entertaining but inferior to the original. I'll see both.

According to The Wall Street Journal, potential theatrical sequels for live-action remake are currently being contemplated.

Really curious to see my girl Angel in CGI format eventually! 😍

And yes I had a huge crush on her as a kid when the Lilo & Stitch TV Series was airing. Don't judge me. 😉

Damn…

I'm more looking forward to seeing the box office numbers it does in the Asian Market (especially Japan). :)

Going to see this in a couple of hours.
Did not realize this is being released ‘early’…thought the release date was Friday.
I have the day off so this was a nice surprise on a rainy day.

Will report back a non-spoiler overview once I have viewed the film.

Looking forward to this, as this looks like a fun movie with a few emotional punches.
The CGI animation for Stitch also looks very well done.

We shall see how it all comes together now on the big screen….

As I mentioned earlier in this thread some time ago, this movie is going to break records and make big bucks.
Absolutely no question about that in my mind.

Even if the film turns out to be a dud story wise, it will still make zillions due to the appeal of the characters and connection to the previous animated movie.
People are wanting to see this…and take people with them to see this.
This weekend is going to be wild.

The power of Stitch compels you!

🚀

I'll be seeing it Saturday as a date night with my wife (who loves the original and is essentially Lilo personality-wise)....however I'm really not looking forward to it after Jeremy Jahns' review, which indicated that the emotional heart of the movie (the theme of family bonds and overcoming tragedy), has been ripped out in favor of more "wacky aliens try to catch Stitch" antics (because that worked out *so well* in Tomorrowland).

I suppose "Ohana" these days just means "overpriced character breakfast at the Poly and you better exit through the gift shop".
