Thank goodness they’re not planning to pave over the river and remove a bunch of mature trees
When it's this hot, having all that water in the park contributes to higher local relative humidity levels, so they're actually doing us a big favor by removing that source of extra moisture in the air.

Now if we can just convince them to get rid of the lakes in Epcot and DHS...

Ha Ha less out door shade means guests go into shops and cool. off and spend money
The AP lounge in Morocco, which was part of the reason why I visited yesterday (needed the button they're giving out for my collection), was quite good in the cooling off category but terrible in the spending money category.

Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water. Duck into shaded areas and air conditioned buildings whenever possible. Don't push yourself! A damp cooling towel behind the neck can be quite helpful. Wear sunscreen (even though some types can prevent proper sweating... but that harkens back to - don't push yourself).

You mean they handed out a button at a place they sell stuff? Those devils!
I hope they had my favorite way to keep cool at WDW the sprayer fans ($14.95)!!
Combine that with a slouch hat ($29.95) and a parasol ($47.50) to stroll your way to a magical experience!

I've got over 200 buttons from various eras of Disney... I couldn't pass this one up especially as I was planning to go past Morocco anyway! The very, very, very powerful AC caused the place to be packed - so I didn't get a seat for at least 15 minutes! (They even had stanchions outside due to the mass of people waiting to get in.)

I hope anyone with a service dog does not repeat does not go to WDW during this heat wave --it would be inhumane to subject an animal to such conditions

For example, a study by WHAS11 found that concrete in full sun can reach 135°F (55° warmer than shaded grass), while shaded concrete was around 80°F. In contrast, shaded grass was slightly cooler than the air temperature. one with a service dog does not repeat does not go to WDW during this heat wave. A dog will experience far more heat that close to the ground(concrete).
