With the capacity this theatre can hold, I'm not really sure how people expect this to have a 3 hour queue length... But it would be nice for the queue to utilize the extended queue on the side a bit for sure. Just to kinda see it in action (not for star wars)

And I agree. This is a huge middle finger to fans, huge middle finger to muppets, huge middle finger to the history of the park, and a huge middle finger to Jim Henson.
Has the extended queue ever been utilized? I walked back there on my last trip to take pictures of all the movie posters and gags that exist. It's a shame you don't get the opportunity to see them, but the whole time I couldn't imagine with the theater capacity and inside queue being the size it is, that you would ever see that much of the extended queue being used.

I remember back in the Osborne Lights Days waiting in the extended queue and seeing all those posters. It was my first proper introduction to The Muppets outside Christmas Carol

I have never seen it used, or at least can't remember - I am sure it has been at some point back in the day

I do always show people the "Gonzo" in the outdoor queue though when we would go

Smells fishy to me.
I agree......I even checked if it was ever re shown outside of the park in a resort and got nothing..Or guests saying they were showing the Epcot short before the film...Unless it was the Timon and Pumbaa short "Stand by Me" I can believe but, an educational short film from a closed attraction still having doubts.

Well, your in luck. I had a backlog of photo's from my 2011 trip of the extended queue area before the remodel....Many of these signs have been removed or reshifted through the queue. I was lucky to get photo's of every sign there on a late evening in January to do this when it was pretty empty.

Just saw Mickey's Philarmagic in DCA. Its8' the theater obviously used previously for Muppetvision.View attachment 859557
And don't forget, those balconies MAY still contain the animatronics...
I asked Becky Cline of the Disney Archives about this last summer and she said as far as she knows they’re still back there. Although she also said it’s very possible they were used for parts to fix up the WDW counterparts.

Thank you for asking that question. I have pondered that for many years; I imagined Statler and Waldorf hanging there motionless...and I guess they are.

I thought the DCA one was known as being inferior? Aren't the screens smaller? And the wall projections aren't actual screens either like the original?
I can't speak to the tech but it looked pretty impressive to me. The front screen is very big (don't be fooled by the "curtains" around the orchestra pit in the opening and closing scenes of Philarmagic). The rest of the show with Donald chasing the sorcerer's hat took up a huge front screen and the sides were extended to the left and right walls.

It was used for picking up 30th anniversary merch.

Funny that you mention that. At the end of Philarmagic where Donald's torso and feet extend out of the back wall, I could have sworn I saw it wedged inside or attached to a cannon. Hmm.
