My last few trips to DLR have been really great. I think it’s a combo of a few things… great weather, anticipation for the 70th, all the spruced up rides, Hyperspace Mountain, Plaza Inn etc but the biggest thing has to be that I haven’t park hopped to DCA in about 3-4 visits. There was a time where we almost never skipped park hopping. For our family and with DCA’s attraction roster i think we came to realize it’s usually not worth the trek over there. I’d rather just throw in a DCA heavy day/ DCA start day every 4-5 trips when we miss it. I’m sure all the new DCA attractions will help with this. As well as my daughter being older/ taller.
I've been the same way. My last two trips to the resort were two-day trips, but I only went to Disneyland. In fact, I haven't been to DCA since Nov. 2023. Not sure when I'll return. Probably when Avatar opens. The new Avengers attractions don't really interest me, but I may get an itch at some point to go back.....it just hasn't happened yet.

On a side note, during my move to Vegas next month I'm going to drive the U-Haul down myself and spend a week there, then fly back up and get my car and tidy up anything I missed. On my way back down I'm going to detour to Disneyland for a day to check out the 70th stuff, but will probably plan another trip later this fall.

I'm just going based on the face, as this one has the same cheek folds as the live action version that the 1967 version didn't have.

Anyways, I'm all for adding more JB to Disneyland, either version. :)

Yeah the shape and the folds are much more live action. Not sure why I get some of the cartoon version vibes in there too. Maybe the hair? And just the fact that it’s etched in stone leaves out certain details and leaves more room for the imagination.

I feel the same way, the current DCA just doesn’t do it for me but that might change in a couple of years when they add Coco, Avatar and Avengers.

DCA has RSR and provides more food options. Beyond that, if the whole park sunk into the ground tomorrow, I wouldn't be too upset.

I DID really enjoy the park during Festival of the Holidays with all of the expanded entertainment options available, and if the park was like that regularly, it'd make up for a lot of sins. Alas, that's not the norm, and I'm already mildly dreading having to start a day there during my upcoming trip with my mother. I just can't get past how much better it used to be, and how slight, lazy, and compromised it feels compared to Disneyland next door. They're not even debuting new food items for the 70th within the park, that's how lazy the current DCA is most of the time!

So... we got a new thing going on, do we? Or am I just paranoid?

I noticed that as well.

What did DCA even get to celebrate for the 70th ?

I know Toy Story Mania got some new targets but that’s all I can think of.

So next year is DCA’s 25th anniversary. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with it considering it’s unfortunately nestled right in between Disneylands 70th and all the new attractions opening in 2028 and beyond. And then it’ll have to compete with DL’s 75th which is a much bigger deal. Not to mention it actually turns 25 in February 2026 - a little over half way through the 70th at DL. I’m anticipating something pretty underwhelming. The 30th anniversary with Pandora will be the big one. 25 has such a better ring to it though.

Just a new WOC, the Pixar Parade from last year, and TSM, as far as I can tell.

Maybe their logic is that DCA is the food festival park and will rotate more items in and out in different parts of the year anyway, so why add more? But it seems like a weird oversight otherwise.

They’ve yet to ever really celebrate DCA. It seems like they basically consider Disneyland’s bday to be the resorts bday, including DCA.

Exactly and it doesn’t look like that’ll be changing anytime soon. The 30th had the potential to be big but then you have it smack dab in the middle of DL’s 75th. It almost feels like Pandora has the potential to be more a celebration of look at what DISNEYLAND resort is getting at 75 years old. With that said I could see them doing some sort of 75/30 hybrid anniversary and really marketing/ celebrating both at the same time.

Hoping to be able to upgrade to an inspire key on Tuesday. Booked a trip for Dec and March, never realized that magic keys did not begin your expiration date until you entered the park!
