To be fair, she had her beliefs and shared them early on in interviews. At that point, she was attacked with some vile comments, name calling, and threats to her life and her family‘s life. We may not necessarily agree with her, but there is ugliness on both sides that we should probably take into account.

With all that being said, there truly is a lot of excitement over the possibilities of what can be done next at Universal Studios Hollywood. There is no doubt that universal creative has continued to shine inrecent years, and are probably licking their chops at what’s next on the horizon.

"Ugliness on both sides" minimizes her impact on millions vs a few bad actors' impact on one person..
People getting nasty when someone in power tries to erase their identity and turn them into 2nd class citizens is understandable.
And I would care less about her sharing her opinions if she wasn't using her influence to move a political agenda.

I don't want MoM at USH... I would like Monsters Unleashed and Donkey Kong, if they can make it a little more thrilling. Monsters Unleashed would be perfect as Hollywood is where those classic movies were filmed.
My feelings on JKR aside, I would like Hagrid's as that would compliment the Potter land and USH well.

I’ll admit that both times I’ve been on the Jimmy Fallon ride, I had fun. And the whole building is gloriously air conditioned.
And, regarding SLoP…YouTuber “Love Our Life” just posted a curious update from USF, and though he points out that this might not necessarily mean anything… well:
Universal just added life-sized colorful statues of the two main dogs from SLoP, sitting by a bench for a great photo op. It’s positioned directly across the street from Jimmy Fallon, with the dogs smiling as they gaze directly at the site….
Likewise, “A few bad actors” minimizes the horrific things that were said to her and her family. She is entitled to her opinion, whether you agree with it or not. And she became far more vocal when her life was threatened.
Again, you don’t have to agree with her. But she has a right to her opinion. Many are just as tired when celebrities push their opinion publicly to support their political agenda. Both sides do it. I just think its inappropriate to single JK Rowling out when many do that.
Whether you like her opinion on this singular issue or not, she brought joy to millions with her books. I loved reading them to my kids when they were little. They were captivated by the world she created. It was heaven for them.
Doubt we’ll agree, but glad we can at least have a discussion.
Now back to what’s going on at Universal Hollywood…

There is a difference between expressing an opinion and influencing political decisions that affect billions.
And the few bad actors were criminally charged for their threats. A social media user received 8 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, with a 12-month community order, 150 hours of community service, 20 rehab days, and £85 costs and a £154 victim surcharge to pay. JK's threats and actions have had little consequence to her.
When CIS women are being harassed in bathrooms now and forcibly removed from property as a result of bad actors like Rowling, I think it's important that we look at actual impact and harm caused and not draw false comparisons.
At the end of the day, Potter is a tarnished brand. By time, by franchise fatigue, by remakes, but most importantly, by the harmful actions of its author. That level of tarnish can be disputed, but the author's negative impact on the franchise is a fact.

Funny how the solution to the supposed issue of men going into restrooms to harass women is men going into restrooms to harass women. All while the uproar is over people who are going to be in a stall. Europe has more privacy in stalls, often being fully enclosed rooms, and also has plenty of group unisex restrooms, making the concerns ring all the more hollow from across the pond.

Well as for USH.... I do think Monsters would be an awesome IP to bring back to the actual place they started feels good thematically.
What if Frankenstein's Castle replaced the Simpsons building, becoming the sort of "dark castle" weenie for the Upper Lot, and the show building could be built where the tram plaza + backstage area begin.

Probably too immediately close to the F&F area for thematic clashing but I do like the idea of Frankenstein/Universal Monsters being at the heart of the park as a weenie, sort of how the castle/mickey mouse founder's statue are at the thematic heart of castle parks

No. Plus with the location near the escalators to the lower lot you would not want the Simpsons replacement to be too much of a draw.

I'm curious to know the cross-pollination between USO and USH. That should play a solid factor in a cloned versus exclusive attraction. Of all EU outputs, Dark Universe is the most exciting to me personally, and I do think it'd be a solid add to USH. Doesn't have to be Monsters: Unchained - it wouldn't make sense regardless given the duplicative ride system to Harry Potter in the same park - but something of equal thrill and ideally of better polish.

I don't get the sense that a ton of people visit both. Perhaps that's why Universal has historically been more likely to straight-up clone attractions when compared to Disney.
I wouldn't say no to some of the new Epic Universe attractions making their way out west, though. I'm sure I'll get to Epic eventually; I just really don't feel any other pull to Florida at the moment.

So, I just got back from another preview period visit to Epic Universe (6th time).
And, since my last visit, they’ve added something new to Monsters Unchained…. it’s very effective… and wet…

Don’t get me wrong: I still love the ride. It’s my favorite at Epic and it’s in the running for Best Dark Ride Ever…
But… I liked it even more back when it did NOT splash me in the face with werewolf slobber.
And, since my last visit, they’ve added something new to Monsters Unchained…. it’s very effective… and wet…

Every Uni ride has to spray you in the face with water AND spray fire in your general direction. You knew what you were signing up for!
