Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

What would a Marvel boat ride even look like and what character/locations would it go through? That seems like the wrong IP to use for a boat ride. I mean since most of Marvel is action packed, that doesn't scream boat ride to me which is more laid back and slower.
As I’ve posted previously a black panther ride using the sunken treasure system where you go to talokan could be cool (obviously not in California Adventure though)

I've long hypothesized the more recent delays were tied to the inability to get that film off the ground. They are waiting to co-film; much as Mission Breakout and Cosmic Rewind were shot during their respective films.
Good point but is it actually that expensive/hard to have them film it not during a movie in progress?

Also for the first version of the avengers e ticket ride (the jetpack seat one), I know it was heavily implied that covid delayed it. But what was the actual reason for its cancellation? The ride system was also already halfway finished (stark flight lab is reusing the jetpack seat portion). People have also said it’s because of the death of the actor who played black panther, but couldn’t they just have chosen a different lead character and destination to travel to? (Like instead of black panther flying you to wakanda, couldn’t they just change it to Thor flying you to his world or something?).

I feel like the real reason it was cancelled, was because Disney wanted to do something a lot cheaper. A ride using a combination of 3 different ride systems and tons of animatronics/physical sets sounds very expensive. So while the e ticket we are getting instead won’t be super cheap, I feel like it’ll be way cheaper than the jetpack seat one. Especially since it’s going to be screen heavy. I really hope they do a good job on it, but i feel like it’s going to be mostly screens with maybe 1-2 animatronics and lightly themed physical sets. I really hope they go all out on it but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get another ride as bad as web slingers.

The first version was definitely still cancelled around 2021 as the Hotel New York at DLP opened June 2021 and displayed concept art for DCA's Quinjet ride, which was then quickly removed within a few days of the hotel opening

Most likely the answer is D. All of the above.

Wait, was the original plan to have tons of animatronics and physical sets?

Its more scheduling everyone to be in the same place at the same time. These are busy actors that have projects going all the time. Its easier to wait until they are already filming for a Marvel movie where they are going to be there anyways then it is to try to work around everyone's schedule.

In the past I read that imagineers would “protest” in certain ways if the higher ups were refusing to approve one of their projects. This actually happened too, but for example when the imagineers wanted to re theme the subs here at Disneyland to the Atlantis movie, Disney said no. So in protest they put a tent around the sub loading area and labeled it “Atlantis research center”. Of course Disney made them take it down after a short while.

Anyways I’m saying maybe the concept art was put up at that hotel because the imagineers wanted to remind people the ride could still be a thing. And the reason they took it down so fast could be that the higher ups found out about it. Also Disney actually announced the ride to the public, so they must have thought it was possible. Anyways im not claiming to 100% know what the real reason was for its cancellation, this is all just my speculation. Most likely the real reason was just budget cuts at usual.

*also I’m sorry I got the physical set and animatronic part wrong. I was getting it confused with the new “infinity defense” ride.
