Indeed, the show's cast.I'm assuming those are CP's sitting in the theater?
Sounds like TDO is off to a Good Start this Summer. When you see a team of designers fully understand the source material like this group obviously did, it makes the misses like Voyage of the Little Mermaid that much more egregious.
That proscenium surround is stunning, and the scrim force to blend live actors, puppets, and media looks to be a wonderful homage to the original adaptation.
If I’m an AP holder, I’m bringing soap and a small towel along with my PB&J sammiches and requesting one of the first 2-3 rows. Then I can really freeload and save money on my water bill at home, to boot!Wow. The first five rows are designated splash zone!!!
It's all the Cast members! You can spot a couple Ariels and Erics, & the show has tons of puppeteers.I'm assuming those are CP's sitting in the theater?
Given the properties under development I've not said too much, but "Villains" as a base creative set isn't easy to work with. This looks like an excellent upgrade. From what I'm hearing, they are much more confident in this than the Villain show. But, maybe the latter will be a sleeper hit.
It sounds really cool at first. But, as we see on these boards, we may abstractly want a villain land but our views of what that means can be miles apart.Given the properties under development I've not said too much, but "Villains" as a base creative set isn't easy to work with.
I wonder if they have to be that way as well. Villains may draw enough people in on name alone, where this may need some good word of mouth to really fill this up.This looks like an excellent upgrade. From what I'm hearing, they are much more confident in this than the Villain show. But, maybe the latter will be a sleeper hit.
My favorite part was always the laser waves overhead, I wonder if that returned in some form. The video gives me great hope for the show.
I always felt this show was super under rated and I thought the prior format was such a fun unique combination of stage craft that you didn't normally see elsewhere.. and that made it Disney special to me. The teaser video is really heavy on the digital effects which I hope really just AUGMENT what was a really physical staging before.. and they keep that element.
I'm actually quite excited to see how Disney went with this show.. in terms of how big to reinvent something they already had... especially since animation courtyard seems to have uncertain futures...

Nope that's happening on the other side of the park in Monstropolis.
