IMO….ever since he has aligned himself with the Disney raging YouTubers Gore is not a trustworthy critic…. A good Critic should leave all baggage at the door and just give an unbiased review about what was watched.. he seems predispose to search for any reasons to dislike anything Disney puts out…For example…. A critic may not care for or search out a horror film in their own time.. But their job could still require them to watch horror films….I would hope they would review the film on it”s own merits within the genre
I mean... he said he really liked Andor, so it appears that perhaps he is not, in fact, "predisposed to search for any reason to dislike anything Disney puts out...". He also generally liked The Skeleton Crew, although he gave it a more tepid review.

The guy goes out of his way to watch just about every indie and main-stream film that get released and his reviews are usually pretty thoughtful, so with that kind of broad cinematic diet, so I'm not going to dismiss him just because of who he associates with.

I like seeing Saw Gerrera. I'd wish they would follow him a little more. He is were the action is. The fashion planet is pretty boring but the architecture is really cool. Why are they not sneaking into the scary imperial building to find out what is going on? Why are they stealing the look of the capital people in the Hunger Games for reporters on Coruscant?

yes I know who Chris Gore is… and I find his reviews use to be much better before he settled in with angry tubers…. One of his big complaints of the first 3 episodes was immigrants… IMO…. He does look for negatives against Disney… Andor did end
up winning him over… it is tough to argue against its quality….however It does not feel unbiased when one of his critiques is how so-called “woke”a piece of media is…. I put more trust into a critic like Dan Murrell.. Feels much more balanced to me… I am not even sure what his politics is

You can watch whatever you like…. Just stating my opinion…. But Gore has insinuated that all these other critics are shills just because their opinions on Thunderbolts differ then his

Finished the next three episodes... took two sittings, because it just wasn't keeping me engaged.

Show still LOOKS amazing.. but minus some character stand outs its really dragging... and really relying at times on deep cuts to support what we are seeing. Like the fight between cassian and bix over the soldier... it was such an intense thing and I'm like 'who are they even talking about??'. And Cassian going ballistic over Luthan visiting Bix... sometimes it would help to be a little more direct and less cryptic. Similar with Val and Cinta... stop making me feel like I am forgetting everything about the past shows.. I'm not gonna rewatch s1 to fill in gaps :)

The whole 'bix is broken' story arc just isn't that compelling to me. I mean the topic of will Cassian have to choose between the rebels and bix is obvious.. and the torment he will face because of his emotions... but the story just is boring at this point.

Honestly Luthen and his aide are the ones I watch the most.. and the portrayal of Mon is hard not keep wanting more. The plot now about the Ghorman resistance at least gives us some new greenfield to explore... but the "lone shot kills the significant character" again? Come on... it's not even interesting when they kill someone off like that with these tropes.

Agreed. It is kind of a snoozefest. The sets and wardrobe are amazing. When do we meet K-2SO?

S1 was small and intimate. Fiona Shaw gave a masterclass performance. I don't feel any of that so far in S2. The bumbling rebels on Yavin were a waste of time. The wedding was a waste of time. Syril sucks.

I hope the next two sets of episodes get better, but it's taking me time to get through each episode, and when I finish one, I am not yearning for the next one. Kind of the exact opposite of S1.

Yes it could be a random Sci-Fi show and not Star Wars. Some people like Star Wars Man (Theory) are too caught up on Star Wars being what it was for them when they were a kid. Wanting Star Wars to be that for the the kids today. I can understand that, but neither he nor I are kids anymore. It's a neat way to still engage with the franchise.

If this was a different fictional universe, it's exactly the kind of show I would watch. So the fact that it's set in Star Wars is an added bonus.

The original Star Wars is also kind of timeless. I wasn't even born when the originals came out and found my way to them. I saw ROTS on the weekend. Tonnes of kids int he audience. We have Star Wars for kids and young people. It is still there. I'm not watching Andor to recapture some of my youthful innocence.

When this season is over, my main complained will be that we didn't get more episodes. I can feel it now, it's not exploring things in as much detail as I want. I am really enjoying it though. Also, I agree. It'll be a damn shame if we never see the Emperor.

Am I the only person here who liked the wedding arc best and is enjoying all of the setup? The pacing is great.

The Gorman episodes are just painful, knowing what’s coming, and watching Mon try to sway senators representing similar planets to her side? Loved it. The clips are the perfect length to keep my attention.

I can see where this is all going to meet up, and the details of the journey are *chef’s kiss.*

I’m just remembering last season when we were at the Aldahni arc (6 episodes in) and everyone was complaining that only episode 6 really moved.

Many critics said the next arc is the one that really hit them, so we’ll see.

So Mon is going to party and she meets up with Bail Organa outside. Why didn't they cast Jimmy Smits? Why even have the scene if they couldn't get him.

I assume the next six episodes will be better since K-2SO will be in them. It was kind of a boring heist and grabbing the listening device should have been easier.

Scheduling - he wasn't available.
The show writer already said he intentionally put that scene in this epi so people could get over the recasting and talk about it.. before the character really starts becoming significant in the story (inferring its coming up in the next chunk)

In the human world there are always competing standards, imperfect adherence to standards, and a constant parade of new versions of standards that include drastic changes. After 5 years they're so bifurcated no one knows what to do. After hundreds of years the differences could be drastic.

On the other hand, sometimes one standard does win out eventually on a long enough timeline. VHS did supplant beta. But then digital came a long, DVD, Blueray, oops.
Wait, what? Just about all products sold have some type of metrology.

The world definitely has standards/standardization. They just don't apply to every random object, but a great many objects and items are measured to exact standards, even as tiny as nanoparticles, and ever smaller units of time.

The way they are measured has become more precise over time. That is true. The meter has been around since 1791, but the official way it is measured is no longer a physical metal ruler.

Even your example of Blu-ray. Blu-ray wouldn't work at all if there were no standards. Just about all products sold have some type of metrology.

The word people are looking for here is "convention" -- not standards.

Things that are done a certain way because there has been a concensus of significant portion that 'this makes sense' or 'this is what people expect or are accustomed to' are said to be following a convention - or 'conventional'. So things can be familiar, even if you didn't know about that object specifically before.

Things can be familiar, even if they are following different rules or standards because of the adoption of conventions of how things are done.. leading to... familiarity :D

Finally got the chance to catch up and very surprised by the responses. I think this season has been excellent and captivating and a thousand times better than the boring season one. Up there with Skeleton Crew as the best SW live action since Mando season 2.

A much better balance of story, character development, and action this season IMHO. I’m actually starting to care about the individuals. I’m actually excited to see what happens next. I like that they aren’t dwelling on situations and moving the plot along consistently. It will be interesting as I think they continue the year jumps, right? So no getting stuck for too long.

Enjoyed the eps and sad the show is so quickly coming to an end.

Think if they were going to cut down from full seasons for each year to just a handful of episodes that at least a fourth episode would've helped flesh out some of the story better. But I'm grateful for what we're getting and still on the edge of my seat watching even knowing how it all ends. Incredible.
