I still can’t believe they’re actually going to rip out the river. The gift of space

This picture helps to show how much space is taken up by RoA. It's significant.
Yup!Exciting because current management isn’t capable of seeing this is the dumbest thing they could do? Exciting because it rips the heart out of the park? Exciting because it furthers their destruction of the American history aspect of the park?
Interesting isn't it. Both official and unofficial discussion seems to only ever talk about it as Cars, with Villains not even getting a passing mention. I would not be in the slightest bit surprised if we don't see the usual and practically mandatory at this point axing of villains all together. Disney seems pretty good at announcing big things then by the time its finished its actually a tiny fraction of what was initially announced. Why are we saying this is for Cars and not Villains?
The current visible work is for both. The land clearing is to facilitate the entire MK project including cars and villainsY’all are ridiculous. It’s for Cars because work is going to first begin on Cars with very little done on Villains for a while. Some of y’all so desperately want Disney to fail that you’ll make up the wildest theories and dictate them as canon in your head. Villains isn’t going anywhere. Its reception in 2022 was enough to make them take it seriously and announce it in 2024. Had they been on edge about it, they wouldn’t have announced it.
I understand that, I was simply responding to those saying Disney is quietly cancelling Villains. The current visible work is for both. The land clearing is to facilitate the entire MK project including cars and villains

Remember what u find exciting may be very different to how others see itExciting because current management isn’t capable of seeing this is the dumbest thing they could do? I will keep bookmarks of all the posts of those who are disappointed when Villians isn't as amazing as planned.Do yourself a favor and do what I’m doing:
Keep bookmarks for all these ridiculous posts. It will be fun to replay all of this when they go down new rabbit holes.

You know what else it shows is how much space there is without touching the Island or that section of the RoA.This picture helps to show how much space is taken up by RoA. It's significant.
I for one couldn't give a fossil fart about Villains, but if Cars were like the one in Disneyland I would be shouting from the roof in favor. But, I know that many like the villains and I have no objection to them building their own land, what I do mind is having my favorite spot in MK, the area around the riverboat and the separation it makes with HM. I have been seeing that view for over 40 years now and it just doesn't get old. It is a huge part of the image of MK as much as the monorail, railroad and the castle. They are doing a massive disservice to future generations to alter that area. Close Tom's Island or lose the boat and just build a bridge over to it to eliminate the only expense that place generates and that is moving people to and from it. The riverboat ride lost a whole lot of worthiness when they stopped having the cabin burning. And since operating that riverboat all day cut sharply into the bonus bucket for executives it is understandable that they want to get rid of that. However, they might soften the blow because they say they need the island for the new plans they just, I'm sure regretfully he said sarcastically, need to sink the boat to do that.Remember what u find exciting may be very different to how others see it
A lot of people may be very excited about cars coming
I can’t say I am. But some will be
Thank you. It's a cement "river" with a boat on a track that's been going in the same circle for 50 years. Not all of us are so pessimistic and some of us really want to see what is planned here. I’m sorry but I’m definitely not calling ROA, the “heart of the park”. And I don’t consider it an important part of learning about American history or anything. It’s a river. It represents some things but that’s not the main focus
It's as big as fantasy land. Using the space to gain some real capacity (assuming they actually build 4-5 attractions total) is a win. This picture helps to show how much space is taken up by RoA. It's significant.

It would be a win if the new attractions fit THE THEME of FRONTIERLAND. WDW is becoming the exact thing that many complain Universal does with a bunch of random IP everywhere.Thank you. It's a cement "river" with a boat on a track that's been going in the same circle for 50 years.

I agree on reopening dead space for sure. I think we've heard from some that there are logistical issues with some of these things. Doesn't the stitch spot have issues with queue space and exits? Tomorrowland terrace is used for their cash cow desert parties (although I guess could be reopened for lunch). And wouldn't the Main Street theater kill the east bypass? That's going to be important with the night parade.Disney frequently mismanages and wastes space with their expansions
New Fantasyland was advertised as "the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history" and claimed real estate from Toontown Fair, but Fantasyland today has the same number of rides as it did in the 70s.
Tron was a true expansion to Tomorrowland's footprint, but the losses of Stitch's Great Escape, the Galaxy Palace Theater and the Skyway have yet to be replaced
The Disney of Today needs 12-14 acres for two rides. Even for something like Toy Story Land.
The Rivers of America were built to support 4 attractions. Replacing it with 4 other ones is not the capacity gain people are trying to make it, especially when other attraction, retail and dining space in the park remains abandoned
It would be a lot simpler, for example, to reopen Tomorrowland Terrace than build a new cafeteria elsewhere in the park.
People supporting this project because they personally don't like the RoA doesn't mean it's the best use of park space or money. Reopening dead space and other proposed projects like Moana in Adventureland and the MS Theater would be.
Frontierland doesn't really seem to have a theme to me at the moment. It's the wild west and the thunder mountain desert, but there's a river and we're also in Louisiana. Bayou and Mountains, Desert and rivers. My hope is that they use the cars area to bridge these gaps and make it make sense as more of just a western plains land.It would be a win if the new attractions fit THE THEME of FRONTIERLAND. WDW is becoming the exact thing that many complain Universal does with a bunch of random IP everywhere.
It will let you down I promise you. You haven’t like a park change ever man. Lower your expectations.
And you and others will just move the goalposts like you’re doing now “they won’t build it” to “it won’t be as amazing as planned.”
