MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Yeah, but they also shouldn’t be a hodge podge of random attractions shoved into wherever marketing thought they’d generate the most money.

(To be clear, I don’t mind Tiana’s, I actually like it. The Cars takeover is what I don’t like. I’m just debating the “museum” point.)
A good museum is also not something that is just setup and left as is.

The TEA also doesn’t just publish theme park attendance estimates alone, it’s actually parks and museums. Museums also win Thea Awards.

I think at lot of people are in the wait and see boat. This is a huge change and they have to nail it, anything less isn't going to be a scar on the parks. However, I think they'll do a pretty good job and I'll wait and see. If it turns out bad, I'll be the first to express that sentiment.

I just don't find it worthwhile to complain about it page after page after page. I wouldn't mind seeing this thread talk about updates, permits and predictions only. Even if it falls to the second page because there are no updates.

I'd love for the mods to keep the thread on track and enforce that.

Dude you completely missed what I was saying. I'm all for new attractions cause the parks need it. My issue is always been how they go about doing it. Disney parks used to have a theme to them with attractions and IP that fit that theme.

You haven't been to the parks in quite some time. I'd suggest taking advantage of the $99 a night hotels and $89 park tickets (sans MK).

I know what you're getting at. The parks are still amazing, fun and exciting. They are still fun and my family would enjoy it.

I do get it. Today's guests don't are about the older attractions and the history. They want Cars, Monsters Inc and Encanto. Enjoy the parks for what they are now.

I think people care about older attractions. Many families bring their kids to WDW for the first time because of the memories they had as kids. They love sharing those memories with the next generation. Same for grandparents.

However, I don't think today's guest obsess over older attractions going away. They embrace new experiences and appreciate new things. I don't think anyone normal (none of us here are normal) really expect everything to be the same after a decade or two in-between trips.

So if I were you, I would stop having disdain for people in general. It's a lot more healthy.

First. I don't have any disdain for people at all. My issue has always been with Disney itself and how little they seem to care about their history or keeping the themes of the parks intact.

IMO it's not that most want the parks to stay the same. The majority want new attractions and understand the parks need more capacity for the amount of guests the parks get. In a Vacuum most love all these new attractions coming.
To go back to Cars. The problem isn't so much ROA or Tom Sawyer Island leaving. It's more that what's replacing it doesn't fit Frontierland.

Cara should have gone to DHS and Animation Courtyard. It would fit better there with the rest of the Pixar IP.

I could even envision a rough storyline to replace Aerosmith with Cars at RnRC.

This is disdain "Today's guests don't are about the older attractions and the history."

Choose your words better then.

Can we get the 6th option for people who genuinely don’t care about ROA and want to see cars
There are some of you out there. Congratulations you are getting what you want.

What’s that old saying, be careful what you wish for, you might just get it 😉

I don’t agree with this Carslsnd, or Cars area or whatever and I personally do not trust Disney to build an immersive area in a timely fashion.

I hope I am wrong years from now when whatever they are trying to do here opens.

Yeah, it is best to ignore people (as in add them to your ignore list). It’s not just that people are negative or spreading misinformation from time to time. It is that, like clockwork, the same people come to the boards to repeat ad nauseam “the economy is failing”, “this will never get built”, “this is the worst decision in DIS history” that it makes the boards a slog. You can depend on the same people to post the same sound bytes day in and day out. I guess it makes them feel validated? Or seen? Or that is there form of fun? Either way- just hit ignore and most of their repetitive ramblings will go away.

Maybe we can just talk about updates to this project and not talk about anything else.
Nobody is stopping you - which updates would you like to talk about?

Tom Bricker posted a good article on the updated permits and his guesses about possible timelines. He mentioned the possibility they could use dams to keep the front half of the River presentable for a while.

I’m also curious when the railroad will potentially go down? Or are they going to build a crossing for construction traffic and build a “construction wall tunnel” to keep trains running?

No offense to your avatar or opinion, but the train going down in order to facilitate other maintenance is one of the least of my worries. Whilst I enjoy jumping on the train (and I love trains, not to the level of hobbiest or enthusiast), it going offline (like its done A LOT in the past decade) is not going to hamper my visit in any way whatsoever. A simple picture with it in the background can suffice. That said, I know how relaxing it can be for some, so I'm not taking anything away from it in that respect, but if I need to have a relaxation session I'll simply spend an extra hour at my resort pool or take a nap in the American Adventure... lol
