I didn't say it, Iger did.But you just said Pandora was in response to EU. Is it for isn’t it? Pick a position and stick to it.
Universal is t going to punch themselves out unless Epic Universe is terrible. There other two parks are fun. All good for the fans of theme parks.I didn't say it, Iger did.
To be clear. I do not think Disney responded to EPIC. Iger claims Disney knew about EPIC for 10 years and all the changes to day (including Pandora) was an ongoing response to Universal/EPIC
My position is Disney ONLY REACTS to Universal when they feel they must. I think Disney as the defending champ is playing rope a dope and is still waiting to see if Universal punches themselves out.

I hope you are right but Disney has stated they have already responded to EPIC with the additions they have already made over the years like Pandora and Guardians and Tron![]()
Aka ( that’s means streamlining the company. ) . Not rocket science to figure that out. Related to Iger surprise visit to ABC location in NYC to meet with cast.Beware, Iger has already made statements of cutting based on new tariffs. Classic recent Disney is over promise and under deliver.
Nowhere has Disney ever said such a thing.
This is what was initially leaked. If true, initially, yes, a ticket to EPIC will be part of a package only.
As much as folks hate the lack of freedom of choice here, I think this is a good idea (for Universal).
1. They wont suffer the typical drop in attendance in the other parks.
2, They are controlling the attendance to EPIC when they initially open, while they are working things out.
It has been also leaked, they will eventually sell single park day tickets to EPIC, just not initially.
EPIC is going to be mobbed when it opens because it’s new. This is their game to lose; if they can handle the mobs and operate the park with little or no issues, it will be a big win for the company.
There is no economic crisis for folks with money and the folks with money are the only ones who can afford these theme parks these days.
There are folks who say the world is going to end (or want) the world to end because of (you know who) but it ain’t going to happen. Folks may also think of it in another way, the would is ending so we might as well go on one last vacation.
WDW will be fine in any event as always. In their panic guests may just get some perks back right now that will eventually be taken away again in the long run.
Well if they really try to limit ticket sales, at least initially, then maybe it wont be mobbed but lets see what actually happens. It will be interesting to watch.
If they do control attendance by limiting ticket sales it wont be mobbed and they can get their processes and procedures working."They are controlling attendance to Epic by limiting ticket sales..." "EPIC is going to be mobbed!" "Well, maybe it won't be mobbed, if they really try to limit ticket sales..."

No one said they weren’t optimizing spending in that way or that their strategy was ideal. Obviously, constantly bulldozing existing space, shuttering in-park real estate, or homogenizing retail is bad. That doesn’t mean a fifth gate is a logistically good idea from their perspective OR ours. Most vacations aren’t long enough to require more parks than already exist at Disney. What they could use instead is more capacity within each park, which they also sometimes fail on with their replacement model, but that doesn’t mean I think the undercurrent of your point (that they basically need an equal response) is in the best interest either.
Do you not believe that the $17B isn't already allocated? What I disagree with @monothingie on is they have the money and the talent. Epic was expensive, but it wasn’t that expensive. If (and they deserve a big if) 17B is spent in Florida in a 10 year window, that is more than Universal will have spent in a 10 year window. Plus as per talent… where do we think many of those Florida creatives who wrapped on EU have landed? Where do we think those creatives came from in the first place?
Do you not believe that the $17B isn't already allocated?
And no WDI has absolutely no talent left in it. The latest portfolio of meh from WDI shows the creativity bank has run dry. I have a feeling that TT3.0 is going to be a lot of cringe.

In my opinion, the 17B is a lie, just a fake talking point to keep shareholders happy.Do you not believe that the $17B isn't already allocated?
Disney originally had the idea I think that Epic would drive traffic to Orlando, and they would benefit as well. I think they panicked at the idea that maybe prices are to the point that's just not going to happen. And I think their end result is they are going to chalk this year to a loss, and try to get people back the following years. If I was Universal, I'd be worried about what happened with Nintendo land in Hollywood. Basically, got a huge bump for one year, then numbers dropped right back to where they were before. Now, an entirely new park could (should) have different results, but I'd be a lot more worried now than I was 2 years ago.Disney will never admit that they weren’t quite ready for Epic… but it doesn’t matter, it’s very clear from their actions.
Last years announcement cycle and this earmarked spending package are their admission of guilt.

No. You don't just block off $17B spend half of it and then say we'll figure out what to do with the rest later. It doesn't work that way. What do you mean. From what’s currently announced? No, there’s maybe 5B of things announced for Florida on the very generous end (pre-tariffs).
And you can see the result of the talent drain from WDI. The HP queue alone is amazing.I think you missed my allusion that a large chunk of the EU project team was hired by WDI in the last 18 months. They’ve been on a hiring spree.

Bingo, like many companies they prep what they ( Iger and the CFO ) will say and present to Wall Street each quarter during public earnings report call.In my opinion, the 17B is a lie, just a fake talking point to keep shareholders happy.
In my opinion, Whatever plans Disney have are vague and will change or not even happen.
Disney is working quarter to quarter. The only thing they are working on right now is what they can say in the next quarterly report.
