And instead of real solutions people just double down on the causes of traffic.
Have you met OC Planning?
Their middle name is urban sprawl....
And instead of real solutions people just double down on the causes of traffic.
I remember RCID approving a bunch of infrastructure work for Western Way and the BV Drive intersection right before they became CFTOD. Do we still know if these improvements are going to happen and when? @lentesta I’m tagging you because i vaguely remember you talking about this a year ago-ish, which is how I learned about it in the first place. Unless my memory is totally wrong (which it could be) so I apologize in advance if you never mentioned these improvements!

Oof, 2031 is a long ways away! Wonder how long it will actually take if and when they start it.
Here's a look at the agenda for the CFTOD Board of Supervisors meeting next week, which includes an item about District support for the Sunshine Corridor study:

It’s not actually a timeline issue. Even if the could instantly widen, it would often not be enough. As far as traffic, they can keep widening and building but it’s a half measure, if that. By the time they widen there’s even more growth and it’s already at capacity. Hmmm, remind you of a specific theme park?
It’s one of the many reasons I’m seriously contemplating leaving Florida.
Tampa has the same issue. They and the surrounding counties just keep building out and out and out, rather than biting the bullet and addressing the core issues; and or limiting growth, being more purposeful
You and I both know that RCID made some blunders in the process of making that agreement. The judge’s decisions in that case were reasonable. They already had those development rights.
Reedy Creek Improvement District was illegally changed. You keep giving shelter to bad acts and then saying more won’t happen. You and I both know that RCID made some blunders in the process of making that agreement. The judge’s decisions in that case were reasonable.
Put that on the list of things nobody asked for. Meanwhile those same roads are so old you could barely see the lane lines anymore. In RCID news, they have started painting the street lights outside the arches on world drive the same brown color that the on property lights are. Not sure why all of a sudden that was decided it was needed but here we are.
Are you talking about the area around the World Drive/192 interchange. If so much of that area is maintained by FDOT and not RCID.In RCID news, they have started painting the street lights outside the arches on world drive the same brown color that the on property lights are. I always assumed it was district lands, either way they should focus less on painting the the light posts and more on having them actually turn on at night. They haven’t been on in months. Are you talking about the area around the World Drive/192 interchange. If so much of that area is maintained by FDOT and not RCID.
I was just about to say that. And i actually think it’s been years. I first noticed they weren’t working in 2023.I always assumed it was district lands, either way they should focus less on painting the the light posts and more on having them actually turn on at night. They haven’t been on in months.
It has more to do with interlocal agreements and road designations than jurisdictional boundaries. I’m not sure about cftod specifics, but FDOT could (and should like does) maintain roads withen thier jurisdiction.I always assumed it was district lands, either way they should focus less on painting the the light posts and more on having them actually turn on at night. Most roads within WDW/RCID are maintained by the district or WDW. FDOT is sure dragging their feet on repairing the power issue that exists at that location. EVERY SINGLE street light is out in that section of World Drive. Most roads within WDW/RCID are maintained by the district or WDW. The World Drive/192 interchange is maintained by FDOT.
