Unpopular opinion maybe but my wish is for a complete rebuild like the Shanghai version. Not sure though if there is enough space to do that?

IMHO I would love to see the Shanghai POTC built in DHS (probably in the Echo lake area replacing the Indy stunt show) and then returning the MK POTC to a Jack Sparrow-less state. The two attractions would be sufficiently different to have in separate parks without Jack in the MK.

I hope they fix the waterfall effect ar the beginning. The first minute of the ride feels empty without it.

Basically because I wish the MK pirates wasn’t the worst one and was more than the Disneyland original cut in half.

I do agree, though it's worth mentioning that, at least according to Marc Davis, the decision to not have much of the Dead Man's Grotto wasn't because of budget/time restrictions, but because Davis thought it "wasn't necessary." He said that the only reason they made them was to get the boats under the train tracks and into the actual show building. So when they build the MK Pirates, they didn't include the caverns because there was no reason to get the boats under a track. I'm sure the saved costs were appreciated by management, but Davis claims it was because he said to not include them. (All this comes from "Marc Davis In His Own Words")

Maybe if they use the Fire Mountain expansion pad that's still unused? Personally though I wouldn't want the Shanghai ride, I prefer the original.

That too! Admittedly I haven't finished reading the book yet, I haven't gotten to the WRE section yet, though I do remember something along the lines of Marc purposefully changing MK's Pirates to make WRE stand out more. WRE never happening is probably one of the biggest tragedies in MK, at least imo, because the thought of a dark ride + rollercoaster + log flume all built in the same show building and intertwining together just sounds amazing.

There’s a catwalk and some remnants but the bulk of what is required for that effect was removed a while ago.

it wasn’t actually water. it was mist made to look like a waterfall that they would project onto.

I should clarify. The waterfalls on the side of the boat are still there. The effect that was removed was the Davy jones protection on the fake “waterfall”
